The only thing good out of it is that I saw a 2 lb weight loss overnight.. probably because I drank about a gallon of hot tea yesterday.. lol...

OK, so I'm still at my conference in Raleigh, and getting the hang of this eating on the fly and carrying a small cooler with me everywhere I go so I can have what I need with me when I need it!  Today, was a complete success!  I started by getting to the conference center early and walking for 30 minutes outside in the brisk morning air!  (Yesterday I only got in 20 minutes). And here's what I ate today:
B-I stopped at Hardees on the way in and ordered a ham and egg biscuit, of which I ate the ham and egg.
S- 1/2 Banana
L- 6 oz Blackened Salmon and ~1/2 cup salad greens with Feta Cheese and vinagrette drizzled on
D- 6 oz Grilled Shrimp and 1/4 cup of sauteed garlic spinach

Protein:  95 g
Calories: 854

YIPEE!!!  And I never cease to be amazed at the incredible importance journaling my foods on The Daily Plate.com is for me.  I swear, it's the second strongest tool in my arsenal - second only to the surgery itself.  So, yesterday, I took the time during breaks to go to the computers and log my foods.  Yesterday I got in around 1000 calories and 100 g of protein.  Better than Monday, but not where I want to be.  So today, I'm right where I need to be - and it's all because I took the time to PLUG EVERY BITE INTO THE COMPUTER.  I sure wish I didn't have to keep learning this lesson over and over again!  So anyway, thanks for listening!!!  connie

Connie..

It sounds like you are doing very well.. Kudos for working your tool even when away from home.. It is not an easy task but you are doing it..

Getting in the exercise will help you lots. Getting there early to be able to walk shows how dertermined you are.

I am glad that you are getting the foods worked out.. you are doing great.. I agree journaling is a very important part of making this work..

Keep up the good work..

Huggs..

Not much to report about yesterday's food.
I drank my four protein drinks for 280 cal/60 protein
Had 8oz of hot tea and 8oz of coffee
Around 10:30 am tried to nibble and had terrible pain and could not eat the rest of the day. Was able to drink but couldn't face a bite of food. bummer, just when I think I'm doing well, have a bad day!

Hang in there Cheryl.. you will have good days and bad when it comes to food..

What kind of foods are you trying to eat.. Are you on pureed foods still or are you moving on to more solid foods.. ?

Do the best you can.. make sure you chew everything until it is like applesauce.. or it will be a big pain in the pouch.. lol...

Hope things go better today..

huggs..

Just about a week into regular foods. Yesterday the culprit was deli turkey and Mozz cheese. I have been eating ground turkey all kinds of ways but this was not acceptable. Cheese has been ok too.

By the way...it is a thrill to watch your ticker tumble. Talk about breaking a stall!! Way to go!

Lunch meat is hard to get chewed up good.. it may have a small piece that you dont feel and that will cause you problems.. but I would suggest trying again in a  week... Mozz cheese stickes are very tough too..chew chew chew.. at the beginning I ate the laughing cow cheese that was soft.. I did eat a lot of ground turkey too.. I ate soft cooked shrimp, imitation crab, baked sweet potatos, tuna salad with wheat saltines, mustard greens(my favorite if you ave not noticed in my posts) soft cooked vegatables, salmon, talapia, poached eggs, eggbeaters, chili, cornbread, meatballs, broccoli cheese soup, turkey meatloaf with shredded mozz mixed in for added protein, refried beans with salsa, corned beef hash-watch the sodium, homemade veg soup made in crockpot so meat is very very tender, Walden Farms no calorie marinara sauce with ground turkey no noodles and parmesean cheese added for more protein .. cheerios, taco seasoned turkey burger, italian seasoned turkey burger, ground chicken salad, Carbmaster yogurts, plain greek yogurt flavored with SF jelly,  Ricotta cheese in a small 2-4 oz glass dish topped with Walden Farms marinara and then topped with parmesean cheese baked, yum, baked cod, banana, peanut butter(jiff makes one that is low sugar low fat) home cooked dryed  beans I like Northern but all are good and high protein and good carbs needed for energy,  romaine lettuce, sloppy joes, and soft fruits no peels,

well I hope maybe that gave you some ideas....

I am glad the scale is moving again...I am officailly now under the BMI of 40.. at 191 lbs that puts me at 39.9...yippee.....thanks for all your help and advice and support..

huggs...
