when will i notice?
The ticker now says 53lbs lost.. sometimes it just takes it time to register when you make a change..
First off Congratulations on loosing 53 lbs...
Now for about when you will notice.. It is different with all of us.. But most of us >50 gals takes awhile for the clothes sizes to change.. we all tend to wear bigger clothes then we should have worn just to try to hide under them.. and yes as larger women it takes time to see the changes.. I has lost almost 75 lbs before anyone at Church made a comment..
I would suggest that you start measuring yourself.. I forgot to do that at the beginning. I had lost about 55 lbs before I measured for the first time.. I would have loved to know from the start what my measurements were.. .. well anyway.. you should see the difference in the inches lost before you find your clothes falling off of you.. As far as seeing the change in the mirror some of us still see ourselves as we looked at the beginning.. It takes the mind time to get caught up on the changes..
Just keep at it and you will all of a sudden realize that your clothes are too big.. It will happen for you just like it has for those who are ahead of you in weight loss.. Just have patience and measure...
I now measure once a month, but when I am in a stall I measure then too because usually that is when the body is shifting and instead of pounds coming off inches are coming off....
Best wishes to you for a continued success and here's hoping your clothes fall off soon.. lol

I am still Pre Op, last time I was weighed was back last month - only 13 pounds then - but I am seeing a difference in my underwear & bra... Not to mention, I can now pull my jeans unzipped, on & off. I am unsure what my loss is to date, but hey, I am starting to see a little difference ;)
It is DIFFICULT to keep a positive attitude when you "aren't seeing" any real change. I keep telling myself, "The next appointment is much sooner than you think..." Then, I actually realize it is two and a half weeks away - "Oh NO! Have I lost enough?!" I was all miffed about having such a "long" time waiting for all my Pre Op Appointments, that it was difficult staying on track.
We did not gain our weight in a day, week, or month - so it will take time to lose what we have accumulated. Stay POSITIVE!

Oop.. re-read this - you should start to notice sooner than others. Clothes that were snug will get looser - that happens pretty fast! The time goes fast and you'll be thrilled.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...

Good post and can we relate or what?! I posted a couple of months ago and bemoaned why my underwear still fit after losing 140 lbs! I'm down 170 lbs. now and some of my panties are officially too big, yay! It totally bewildered me how, after this huge weight and inch loss, underwear still stayed on my waist and didn't fall down! So don't wig out if you don't notice major drops in size until you've made a more dramatic weight loss...us higher BMI'ers see the size drops more the closer we get to "goal"--whatever that is! Just appreciate the noticeable differences you'll note in monthly photos (front, side, rear, close-up) and measurements, as well as your scale regression. You'll be a happy camper with baggy clothes soon enuf!
