Entering my last 30 days before surgery, so I start my liquid diet tomorrow. excited that i am getting closer to surgery, but nervous on the liquid diet. Anyone been on optifast? I do a shake 5 times a day and a bar once a day along with a healthy choice/lean cuisine meal once a day. Any advice? Anyone need a surgery buddy? I have surgery on may 19th,

Hey, I didnt do this diet, but I am six months out from the operation. I remember heading into the liquid diet was kinda scary. But once you get about two days into it you dont even crave the food at all. I dont really know what a sugery buddy is but if you need any advice I am more than willing to help you with what I do know. I wish you the best of luck! The best is to come!

I have surgery on May 10th and would love a surgery buddy.

50 lbs lost pre-op-the rest is post op.

Hi there! I start my Optifast diet on May 1st, and surgery date is May 25th. I'm to have 4 Optifast shakes a day, with 2 servings of veggies, and am a little nervous about how I'm going to manage! I hear it's a lot easier once the first few days are under your belt... here's hoping!
How are you planning on mixing your Optifast? I tried just shaking one up in a regular container, but that didn't work very well, so I picked up a Magic Bullet Single Shot. Made a huge difference.
Would love to be your surgery buddy!

Yay someone else on optifast!  :)

I actually got a shaker blender with the ball in it...works pretty good I think.  So far chocolate seems to be the best.  Don't care for the strawberry at all.  Vanilla isn't too bad, but chocolate seems good.  We'll see if I am still saying that in 30 days!  :D

I have heard the 3-4 day is hardest then it gets better to.  I can tell you I am hungry right now, but luckily I get a healthy choice meal tonight.

I have done optifast for weight loss twice - once for 5 months in 1988, and once for 3 months (in 2008), before I started looking into WLS.   I can say I was never hungry.  Sometimes I wanted something else to eat, but not often.  And I wasn't hungry after the first couple of days.   I hope that is the same for you.  I got tired of the "potion" as I called it.  I would usually do chocolate, but eventually got into vanilla.

Good luck to you

Actually today was better than yesterday, so hopefully tomorrow is even better than today.  Only problem I am running into so far is that it gives me something I don't want.  :( took some imodium hope it helps and doesn't slow weight loss.  hopefully my body gets used to it after a few days, cause if I have that for 4 weeks it will suck.  Trid vanilla and choco they are both really good I though, the strawberry not so much....I think I can do it though.  :)

thank you, today was a rough day, with temptations abound, and now they are planning a retirement party for someone next week that is catered.  I may have save up a shake or two for the occasions.  :)  But I made it through!

I've done liquid diets before.  I loved the taste of the chocolate shakes, but umm...my body did not like it at all and the chocolate gave me the problem you're having.  I used to do the vanilla shakes with a teeny, tiny pinch of chocolate pudding mixed in to make it taste chocolaty.  I wasn't doing this for surgery though, so I don't know if this will work for you.
