Well Karen, it doesn't sound to me that you had too much.  I assume that was for a whole day?  The thing about being hungry though, some people say they never experience physical hunger again after RNY - that was not the case for me.  My physical hunger signals returned at 3 months.  And at 3 months, I generally could not eat 3 ounces of meat at one sitting, so I ate (at my nutritionists' directions) breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack.  The snacks were my 3 protein shakes a day.  The meals were pretty much pure protein - what I could hold of it.

One thing I have noticed, sometimes I think I'm physically hungry when what I really am is thirsty.  Flavored waters really help me when I'm trying to decide if I'm really hungry or not.  If I'm physically hungry, a 16 ounce bottle of flavored water won't hold me.  But if I am just thirsty or want something flavorful, it will make that go away.  And truthfully, if I find I am really physically hungry, I'll get me some protein to eat or a small salad with cheese and almond slivers, or some fruit and cheese.  The snack I've recently come across that works really well for me, are pork skins (I'm a salt hound more than a sweet hound).  They are only 80 calories, 5 grams of fat, and have 8 grams of protein!  Who knew!?!  AND, they give me the satisfaction of a crunchy snack.  I don't have them often, only when nothing else will do.

Good luck sweetie!  connie
