I hope to meet others here who have more than 200IBS to loose or those who have lost a lot of weight and to hear their stories. Fell free to PM me or just post here.

My name is diana and I am 40 years old, I live in East tenneesse, I just started my 6 month diet, am 5ft6 and weigh 346. I am unable to excercise because everytime I start I have terrible Knee pain, it used to be a sometimes pain, but for the last three months Its been chronic, I am always on the go, and a outdoors person, but I see my weight is holding me back and I am afraid that I will be crippled, so I am starting the journey to a brand new me :) I would love it if you emailed me back, maybe we could support each other, during our transformations!
I hope you'll stick around so we can get to know you... this is a great place to be :)
I started out close to where you are now ( 390) and swimming too! I, like you, love to swim and it was a great way to jump start and continue my weight loss. I still swim and it feels better with every pound I lose.
Like Dorie said, "Just keep swimming!"

You're doing great! Swimming is wonderful exercise. Keep it up. The more you can lose preop, the better off you'll be.
I started out at 388 and I hope to lose 239 pounds. I'll be ecstatic if I can get down to 200. My goal is actually 149 (normal BMI for my height).
Best of luck with your journey.
Hi Linda! I am Vicki, and I am pretty new here also, even though my profile says I have been a member since '05, as you can see it has taken me quite a while to make the decision to have WLS. Since finding the support of this website I have learned so much! It really helps to find others that have been where we are now, and know the discouraging feeling it is to have so much to lose. Hopefully we can all help each other through this journey!
I'm in a pretty similar boat to Moj_patties....I started at 409 at my first appt with my surgeon, and am right now sitting at around 396.
I hope to lose 250 in the next 18 months or so to meet my goal weight of 150 (seems like it's sooo much to lose)
I am trying to get into a swimming routine, but haven't been as good about it as I should be.
Do you have any tips that you could share to help keep the motivation up?
I want to lose 50 pounds before surgery and I still have about 35 to go before the end of June!
