Can I become a lean, mean fighting machine?

About five weeks ago I started having severe headaches and short bouts of double vision.  Turns out I am having mini strokes (TIAs.)  They are now focusing on my heart to see what is causing them.  I have a strong family history of heart disease at a young age.

I am very greatful that I am facing this after losing 202 pounds instead of before.  I have, however, gained 12 pounds on a new medication, don't exercise, and smoke heavily.

This morning I was picturing the next new me.  I was thin, not a little overweight and I was fit.  I wasn't smoking.  I was in a swimsuit, exercising!

Please add me to your prayers.  I need strength and also relief from the headaches which they say are not caused by the TIAs.

I hope they discover the source of your issues and it's an easy fix.

Keep that vision of yourself in the bathing suit in your head. I think it's wonderful.

I will definitely keep you in my prayers.. I am sorry you are going through this.. I hope they can find the answers and help you..

Congrats of loosing 202lbs.. that is fantastic.. I am sure that it will help you now..

ONE of the best things you can do is STOP smoking.. I know it is hard but loosing 202lbs shows you CAN do hard things... If heart disease runs in your family the smoking is hurting you as bad as the weight did.. I am not going to harp on you about it .. you know this.. YOU have to make the decision just like you did to have the WLS..

Get back on track and start exercising again too.. if the new meds can cause you to have weight gain then that is more reason that you need to start moving.. do not just let the weight keep creeping back.. you worked too hard to get it off .. so get moving... if you want to be that skinny girl in the bathing suit you have to keep working at it.. I will pray for you to get back on track with the exercise..

I hope you can find relief from the headaches.. smoking can really cause a lot of them.. the lack of oxygen we put our brains through when we smoke can be awful.. I smoked for over 25 years and I suffered with so many headaches,, now that I have quit I do not have them like that any more....

Prayers are going out for you.. for strength and relief and also for your health issues..  please post on here and let us know what they find and how you are doing..

huggs..

Aw sweetie, both my parents have struggled with smoking all their lives. My mom won't quit, she says she doesn't care how expensive they get or if she gets emphasema or cancer (scary to think the addiction is that bad). My dad had a massive heart attack at the tender age of 58, and hasn't had a cigarette since then. He truly can see how easier it is for him to breath, smell, taste and live - having NO idea he had problems before because it was all he had ever known.

Now, there is research showing that food addiction, once bypassed, can lead to other addictions so I can only imagine how hard it would be for you to give up smoking after no longer eating with addiction - so give yourself credit for EVERY baby step you make, and know you can do this!
