Scooch over ladies, here I come!
Hey! Today I am 10 days post-op, had my follow-up at the surgeon's office, got the drain pulled and all 52 staples removed as well. What a relief! Anyway.....I gained about 16 pounds while in the hospital so was not expecting any weight loss. I was thrilled to see that I had lost 5 lbs off of my pre-op weight! Make me some space on the loser's bench!
*schooch* *schooch* made some room on the bench for ya...welcome home!

Hi Magnolia, The eating/drinking is a challenge for me. I came home on clear liquids and until yesterday I was having 3 protein fortified portions of chicken broth and protein water. Yesterday I got the ok for full liquids. I tried some yogurt last night and it went well, today my goal is 2 protein shakes and water, I am trying the first shake now, not sure it will stay put. So far the only thing I am enjoying is nice cold fresh water, tough to get protein that way! What about you???
Wow you lost that gain of surgery fast.. I am happy for you.. and 5lbs to boot on top of that..
I know you must feel better to have that awful drain out and the staples.. but look out for the itching.. it happens to a lot of people after the staple removal.. if you start itching get you some childrens liquid benedril and some hydrocortizone cream.. it really helps.. do not use benedril cream with the benedril liquid.. maybe you wont have that problem .. I hope not.. but if you do at least you will know it is normal.,. I was so worried and calling my surgeons office about the redness and itching.. only to find out it is normal..
I've scooched over a got a place cleared out for you on the bench.. so come on down and join the party.. hold on though.. it is quite a ride.. lol...
Keep up the good work..
huggs..

Welcome and join the rest of us losers! These days I am just high on life, enjoying doing things I haven't done in decades. Been going to the state park about 3 times a week now that the weather is good. I missed being able to walk so much. Hoping your staple sites heal up well, I only had the lap sites with glue, and the glue was itchy! I had a staple line after my cancer surgery in 2006 so I know that is a bummer!
