I have been on obesityhelp for a little over two years.  I was going to have lapband a couple of years ago but had an illness with one of my kids and had to put the surgery off.  I started the journey yet again July 2009, weighing 397 and having a BMI of 68.1.  I started checking out different forums on here again, trying to figure out which I liked and happened upon this one.  So, I have lurking for the past couple of months.  Well, I finally got a surgery date yesterday of May 10th.  I decided, after spending some time talking with my surgeon and doing research on my own, to go with the RNY this time.  So, I thought it was time I introduced myself.  I have been doing some prep work for the surgery, and am now down to 369 and a BMI of 63.3.  I am looking forward to getting to know everyone on here, and continuing on this journey with you all!

You are on your way now!  We started at similar weights and BMI!  I'm so happy to be down now and the time has flown.  Is Cheryl your name  (on the signature line) or do you prefer to be called mclaprade?  LOL   Hope things go really well for you.
