4 more days!

Finally after all the hurdles and issues, I am 4 days from surgery! This last issue with the surgeon postponing my surgery may have been a blessing in disguise! I got sick the day I was scheduled to have surgery with a bad cold and had lots of chest congestion. I went to my pshyc Dr and we sat and talked for almost an hour about surgery and the realities and the illusions and she had no problem writing me a letter clearing me for surgery. I brought it to my surgeon's office, his nurse ok'd it and She rescheduled surgery. I didn't have to re do pre op tests which was a bonus because it was a pain the first time. It took 6 people 5 tries to get the blood they needed....

It's true when they say everything will work out in the end. It seems like the last few weeks things that were issues aren't anymore. Two of my siblings who both rejected the idea of me having surgery are now both on board which is great. My older sister who's a nurse wanted to make sure I knew the risks, she wanted to know which surgery I had chosen and why so I told her. My brother just wants me to be OK. I was shocked when I went to my sister's for a birthday celebration for my grandmother when my Grandma was 100% supportive of my decision! I was surprised at how much she knew about the surgery, which she's learned from watching Health Channels, lol She's even offered to take in and alter the clothes I want to keep.

I've gotten everything I'll need for the first few weeks after surgery, I've gotten the items I'll take with me to the hospital and my focus this week is to relax, get lots of water in and Let God take over! Here goes, just a few more days until my life and my body are changed forever! Nobody said it would be easy but I know it will be worth it!

Good luck to you. It will be great. I am two weeks out and feeling wonderful. I was up and moving around much sooner than I thought I would be. Just keep up the great attitude, it makes a big difference. You will be in my thoughts on Friday.
