BMI 56.9 - and I'm getting the best, and only the best, WLS
It's 17 days until I get my duodenal switch.
You know, sometimes it doesn't really hit me that I am THIS BIG and other times I feel like a balloon about to pop. We have many cubby chicas in my family, but I surpass them all by three fold at least.
Some in the family think I'm stupid getting WLS, that I should accept my fate. Others think I should stop being "lazy" and eat less, excersize more. But my mom and sister and most importantly, my boyfriend supports me 100%. It is so cute because he keeps asking me what he should buy to stock at his house for my visits to make sure I have the right food, drinks, etc, I need.
I'm REALLY happy that Aunt Flo visited me this week because I sure didn't want to deal with that during surgery or travel to Mexico, lol.
I promise to post every detail in my blog and on various OH boards so that my experiences, the good, the bad, the ok, will be helpful for others researching WLS. I know that I have been reading profiles, blogs, and boards here for nearly 3 years and it has gotten me where I am today - extremely grateful.

Larissa, we'll be pulling for you and I know you're going to be an incredible success story! And tell your boyfriend he really doesn't have to worry too much about food to keep in his house. Eggs are a good soft choice for protein content. I relied heavily on protein shakes in the first 8 weeks. You won't be eating much at all - especially at first! Bottled water and flavor packets are a really good idea though! Take good care! connie
p.s: If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got...

Best of luck on your surgery! Your surgery is the same day as my one year anniversary.
Also: "I'm REALLY happy that Aunt Flo visited me this week because I sure didn't want to deal with that during surgery or travel to Mexico, lol." Just a warning, sometimes the stress of major surgery can cause your period to start even if it's not your TOM, so maybe pack some tampons just in case. Mine started 3 days post op and I was shocked.
Again, good luck!
