Dressing Room
So... I had gotten so big that I could no longer shop at stores, but could only do catalog/online shopping (I'm sure some of ya'll can relate).
However, I recently realized that I needed some new clothes seeing as how I'm done 150+ lbs. So, I decide to head into Ross to see if they had anything I could fit into.
I meander over to the men's section (I don't wear women's clothes FYI) and found some cool things.
I take my finds over the dressing room and just stood there like an idiot.... I didn't know what to do!!!!! I told the lady at the rooms that I was a little clueless and she had to help me through it,
"Okay so I count how many items, then give you a tag, then you go in and try them on"
Uh duh- I went to college, yet I can't recall how to use a fitting room...ah the humiliation. I felt sooooo stoopid!!
However, I feel great as I walked out with some L and XL clothing, it's awesometo not have a zillion X's before my size!!

Congrats... that is great.. what a wonderful WOW moment.. to be able to shop in regular stores and also to buy clothes with no X in the size... both are fantastic accomplishments.. I too could not shop in stores at my highest weight.. the largest Fashion Bug went to was 5x and they were too small... We do not have too many plus size stores around anyway.. I live out in a very rural community.. SO I ordered most my clothes online and yes also from the big and tall mens catalog.. I got most of my T shirts there.. I can totally relate.. I am so so happy for you... keep it up and before long you will be in smaller sizes and be an old pro in the dressing rooms..

Ok..so now I know who to ask for pointers when I get to that stage...i'm working on it slowly...lost 91 pounds so far....No dressing rooms yet cuz I had clothes from ages ago that were too small, so i'm wearing them now and impatiently awaiting my "new clothes shopping" days.....But...........I did go to a walk in movie theatre for the first time in over 5 years last night....saw Alice in Wonderland (amazing movie) in 3-D!!! Can't see it in 3-D at the drive in, so I had to risk it..and I fit in the seat!!And i didnt hurt for hours afterwards from trying to sqeeze my big tushy into the seat! My daughter and I had a blast!! Congrats to you!!! and I'll let ya know when I need the dressing room tutorial!!
Thanks, it is amazing! But you know you should put on that suit- heck that's how I lost the weight pre-op. I went swimming at 390lbs I put on a huge suit and did what I could and I'm sure once your having fun you won't even care what little you're wearing!

I can sooooo relate. I have been buying my clothes from the kingsize online mens catalog for so long. I am just getting into 26/28, 30/32 (depends on the item) and have been buying some items from a consignment shop near my house called the Shrinking Closet started by 2 ladies that had WLS. Good prices and some stuff looks like they have been hardly worn at all. I don't know if I will ever give up the mens jeans, I think they are made better than the ladies. But I am happy once again to be able to wear colors like lavender, berry, etc.
Friends are the family we choose for ourselves.
