Wow...i have a huge pannis as well and I'm so scared to get it done. I know it will have to come off but the pain and the recovery time makes me leary lol I know i will be happy once it is done, but yikes!

I hope you will feel better soon. Please keep us up to date on how you're doing with your recovery. Have you tried the plastics board to get some assistance with this? maybe they know of some support groups you can go to, but also i'm sure they can provide some helpful information while you're trying to heal.

Hi there. I saw your post about your pain.. Have you looked at the plastic surgery forum here? There's a lot of people who have had panniculectomies and are dealing with pain, etc... You might find some good answers there!! Take care!

I had gastric bypass surgery about 11 years ago and have kept 120 lbs of 140 lbs that I have lost.  I have an appointment scheduled with my primary care physician so that I can be referred to a plastic surgeon for a breast reduction and a penniculectomy.  I have a grade 1- grade 2 flap and I have had it!!!  I want it off.....  the small and skin irritations have to go.  I also have a 39H bra size and they also need to come off... the only problem I see is that I weight 220 lbs and I am 5'1".  How hard is it to get this covered by my HMO?

I just wanted to address one thing that you said.  You claimed hat you cannot lose any additional weight because you cannot exercise with the large pannus.  That is nonsense.  There are many of us who have some type of physical issue that prevents us from doing anything more than walking as physical activity, yet that did not keep us from losing the weight.  It just means that you have to be more diligent about what, and how much, you eat.

I am glad to see from the later posts that your panniculectomy has been approved.  Just be aware that the lack of weight los for TWO YEARS that you are attributing to inactivity may not be resolved by the panniculectomy (unless you suddenly start doing a LOT of exercise).
