Hi All,
Surgery is Monday!!!! I'm making it through my liquid diet pretty well, no apetite and really sick of protein shakes but I am coping.
Truth is...I'm having a bad day at work. I have been working ahead like crazy to help cover my upcoming absence and this morning the boss calls me in to tell me he is unhappy with something I did. I have been trying so hard to hold it all together and that put me over the top. Now I just want to go home and sit on the couch and cry. Thanks for a place to vent.

Hey girl.. don't let anyone get you that upset... it is not worth it.. your health and well being is number one right now.. you are doing this for you.. no one else will ever understand that especially not a boss...

All you can do is the best you can.. that is all anyone can ever ask of you.. Boss's sometimes expect us to be perfect and do everything just right and never make mistakes.. well there was only one person who ever walked this earth that was perfect and that was Jesus. Even your boss makes mistakes although he or she would never admit it.. They were in your shoes at one time in their life and had a boss over them complaining they did something wrong but they seem to forget that when they get into a position of authority.. Just try to picture them as another human being and not your boss.. they are not perfect and should not expect perfection.. Just do your best and that is all you can do.. if that is not good enough then the heck with them.. they can go fly a kite..

I know in this economy jobs are very precious and I am sure you do not want to loose this one.. but remember that your life is precious too.. and that is way more important than ANY job could ever be,.. you can replace a job but you can not replace your lost health or you life when it is gone.. SO think of you.. You are under a lot of stress right now... this is not an easy thing to go through.. you are not going to find support at work with your boss so don't expect it.. just do your job and go home and forget the day.. don't let it ruin your happiness of the journey you are embarking on.. no job or boss is ever worth that.. leave the job at work and forget about it at home..

You come on here and vent all you want and we will be there to support and encourage you.. as well as your own support system at home.. stay on your program and do the liquids and go get the surgery done so you can start a new and healthy way of life and loose the harmful lbs you have on you now.. Stress is not what you need right now.. so let it go in one ear and out the other.. forget about what the boss expects and remember your goal..

We will all have bad days and thing that go wrong but dealing with them is part of this too.. We all need help from time to time to deal with life's issues.. we here on OH will try to help as much as possible to keep you encouraged and on the right track.. So calm down and remember what you are doing positive at work.. Here you are trying to do extra to cover what you will not be able to do while gone.. most people would not bother.. so look at that as a positive and acknowledge that for yourself.. pat yourself on the back even if no one else does.. and don't worry about perfection.. none of us will ever achieve that..

I will keep you in my prayers to have less stress and not let others interfere with your needs..
Keep up the good work.. Liquids is not easy as I am sure you have learned already ..it will get easier.. I promise..

Huggs..

Maybe one positive is that when you are recovering you'll be out of work for awhile? That way you don't have to deal with the boss and such!

I'm glad you're doing well on the liquid diet. If you don't have an appetite now, that is likely to make the transition to the other side easier. I think after surgery is somewhat easier than pre-op, though the emotion thing still gets to be a bit. I was a basket case a couple of days ago for no apparent reason, other than this surgery seems to have created some hormonal havoc for me.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!

I hope you go home, take some deep breaths, and put things in perspective.  I agree with Teresa - sometimes you just have to put your focus on your health and well-being.

You sound very dedicated to your job, and while none of us are perfect, many of us are really hurt when we make a mistake or are imperfect in any way - - that's a lot of pressure to put on yourself.

Take it easy, tomorrow is Friday, and hopefully a better day for you!

This is wonderful to read. I am behind you a bit and I cannot wait to get into the two hundreds. I figure at this point I have lost a skinny person, LOL. I weighed 440 9 months ago, 420 6 months ago, 365 at surgery, and am down 42 post-op. It feels slow, but I know it really isn't. I guess part of it is knowing I still want to lose another 150.
