Don't ever stop fighting.. don't let them win... this is a life and death situation and they only care about money and policy.. they will do everything they can to try to discourage you so you will just give up and say forget it.. don't ever do that.. you can fight this and win,.. the only way they can win is if they have an exclusion that specifically excludes surgery no matter what..if it says unless medically necessary you can win that, but some say for any reason it is excluded.. that was the fact with a couple of the insurances I had, so my hubby changed jobs and we started all over.. we did this for 4 years until we had an insurance that covered the surgery.. then it was still a fight.. but I was determined to not let them win.. I had to have the surgery no matter what I had to do to jump through their hoops.. and just when I was approved after 5 years. in July 2009 the company changed insurances on us.. so I had to start again.. but I never gave in and I never gave up.. I first saw a surgeon in spring 2004 and it too****il fall 2009 until I had the surgery.. yes it was a hard fight but I never gave up.. you should never give up either... no matter what hoops you have to jump through.. do it and don't give the insurance a reason to be able to say no... many people say they are disappointed they have to wait 6 months or a year to get the surgery.. well I would have been happy with that time frame. but I never let any of it stop me..
some are angry they have to loose some weight .. well waiting 5 years and having to loose 67 lbs didnt stop me.. so I know if I did it anyone can..
You are a winner already for pursuing the surgery.. just prove to your self and show the insurance you are a winner by never stopping the pursuit.. I wish you all the best and hope you get approved for surgery this year.. no matter how long it takes it is worth the time and effort ...
NEVER STOP THE PURSUIT....

I am so happy to see the scale moving that it is not bothering me now that it is slow.. I am almost to 100lbs gone and the closer it gets the more excited I get.. I set a goal of loosing 100lbs by my birthday which is March 24th.. so it looks like I will meet that goal and maybe sooner.. I just love getting on the scale now.. if I am the same that is ok because I know it will move again.. as long as I don't see a gain I feel I am doing good.. Your posts every week have done me a world of good.. I have a hard time remembering what I weighed just a week or two weeks ago, but by being accountable to post every week has made me see the loss. so it really helps,, I even write it on my calendar now.. thanks for doing that..
I could not believe the inches lost.. 20.5 just in the waist.. man there are many people whose waist is not much bigger than that.. a lot of 24 inch waists out there.. so it is hard to imagine that I have lost 20.5 from my waist.. I was so amazed to see 60 inches gone.. that is more inches than I am tall..lol

Hi Teresa
Wow you are really working the tool called the RNY.
I wish I measured myself more but I know that the inches have come off. You will get to the 100 pounds lost mark (I'm still trying to get to onederland). I know I will get there but that scale is so cruel sometimes. I have been trying to stay off of it and not get obsessive about it.
Your doctor should be very pleased. If he isn't, too bad. You have done absolutely awesome!!

I am trying to get this tool to work.. it is not easy.. I still do not get the full sensation.. I am still measureing every morsel of food.. If I stay busy I actually forget about eating.. but when I get to the evenings and I sit down to watch tv that is when I get the munchies.. so I make a pot of hot herbal tea and sip on that.. but man it would be so easy to eat.. it is a struggle everyday..
I have increased my protein and it is working better at making the scale move but that is still slow ...two weeks ago I lost 6 lbs in one week and I was so excited that the scale was going to start moving faster.. but no ...I am back to 1 to 2 lbs a week again.. but at least it is moving.. slow and steady.. lol..
So I know I wont be at 100 lbs lost by my appointment but thats ok.. I am proud of my accomplishements and to be only 4 lbs away from the 100lbs lost mark.. then after that only 3 more off will put me in Onderland.. I am shooting for that by my birthday and that is the 24th of March so I might make that goal.. if not it will be so close... I am getting excited about that..
Yes the scale can be cruel.. I have become obsessed again now that I am so close to 100lbs lost.. so I get on the scale every morning.. naked of course.. and pray the scale has moved.. if not I really exercise my butt off.. and then the next morning still no change.. aarrrrggg. then after a few days of the disappointments it will move a lb.. whoo hoo a whole lb.. I will take it.. better than going up.. that has happened a couple of mornings...aaarrrrggggg.... but I still keep plugging along.. wish I could stay off the scale but I guess I am hoping I will get on and see it at the 100lb lost mark and I want to know the day that happens... as soon as I reach these two goals I am going to put it away in the closet again and try to just weigh once a week. again...
You will get to Onderland before you know it.. you have done so good.. dont let the scale get you down.. you just have to do what you know to do and be patient.. a wise woman once told me that.. wonder who that was... lol....
I hope the doctor is pleased since this is the last time I see him.. if not I know the nut will be.. I think she knows me better than he does.. I feel like I am just another face in a fast blurr of his day of seeing patients.. he is too too busy and even though he is a good surgeon I dont feel like we have the relationship I had with the previous surgeon.. of course I had known that surgeon for 5 years trying to get the insurance approval.. and I guess we get soal tied to our doctors..
well anyway.. thanks for the kind words.. and the praise.. it means a lot.
