3 month check up can I be 100lbs gone by then..

I was wishing I could loose 100 lbs by the three month appointment on the 22nd.. as it is getting near I am  loosing about a 1 lb a day..so much better than the 1 b a week I was seeing..  I was so happy but realized now that I only had 6 days left  to loose 6lb.. could I possibly keep up the lb a day loss and loose that by the appointment date.. and I weigh in my birthday suit at home to make sure that I do not have a variance with the clothes. I wear each day weighing different.. and I cant do that there.. lol.. so I know I will be a couple of lbs heavier there.

Well it was getting closer and I was getting more stressed and I know the stress can make me stop loosing or actually have a gain.. man oh man so close to it.. yet seems so far..

Well I got a reprieve.. the office called me and the surgeon will not be in the office on Monday the 22nd so they rescheduled me for March 1st the following Monday.. I am so happy I am doing a happy dance .. but keep me in your prayers that the loss I am seeing does not reach a  dreaded plateau before then.. I would love to surprise my hubby that day when I weigh in..

huggs...

You're doing so amazing... I hope the loss keeps up for you, but no matter what you've done awesome so far and should be very proud!! Looks like we'll both be having our 3 month follow up appts soon.  Cheers!

Thanks  I hope the loss keep up too.. I am really proud of my accomplishments.. but I still try to set little goals along the way.. this is just one of them.. it gives me the incentive to not give in to the night time head hunger.. hot herbal tea is getting me through and the fact that I am so close to the three month check up..

I hope you are not too nervous about yours.. everyone seems to get the jitters when it comes time to see the surgeon..  this will be my last time to meet with the surgeon.. after this visit I will only see the nut unless there are problems.. so I really would like to leave with a good impression instead of him telling me to do better..

I never noticed our surgery dates were so close.. how much have you lost so far..??? before?? after??? I know we should not compare but I am still curious.. if you don't mind sharing..
Mine has been slow since the surgery.. I lost 67 before but only 27lbs lost in these 3 months.. but it mostly has been in the last few weeks.. maybe my body finally decided to give in... lol

huggs..

Oh I agree... mini goals are so important.  My next one i****ting 100 lbs down... 13 to go!  My reward will be a new hairstyle!

I'm not nervous about my appointment yet... I really like my surgeon and think he tends to be quite reasonable with his expectations.  I have a list of things I want to discuss with him though, so he better be ready LOL  We do a number of follow up visits with our surgeon at 3 months, 6 months, a year, etc.  Nut's are available for help, but I think he likes to keep a close eye on our progress and potential other health issues.  It makes me very grateful I moved to where I am and have him as a surgeon.

I was 380 last summer, my hightest weight.  I lost 36 pounds pre-op, for a surgery day weight of 344.  I've lost 50.8 pounds since surgery.  I did have a 2 1/2 week stall in December that frustrated me to no end.  Some days I get frustrated, wishing I could lose more per week.  But when I look at the big picture I realize I've lost a lot and need to relax a little with the expectations I have.

You lost so much pre-op!!!  I've read that it significantly slows down our post-op loss if we lose a lot pre-op.  Your body is probably like, "what the heck!?!?"  I'm so glad it's starting to let go of the pounds though... our body is stubborn like that but eventually all of the good work and consistency has to pay off.

Have a great day!

Michelle you are doing so great.. I am so happy for you for the loss you have... IT is a big accomplishment.. I was hoping my weight loss would have been faster but yes you are right I lost so much before surgery that I had gotten to the point that I was stuck.. No matter what I did the body was not letting go of the weight.. I even did laxatives and diuretics the few days before weigh in for surgery just because the insurance had placed a number I needed to be at or I could not get the surgery.. (they are so unfair) so now my body is just letting go of the idea it has to hold on to the weight keep me going.. I am glad that it is moving faster.. it helps with the determination to exercise more and eat what you need to eat..

I wish my doctor saw us through more than the first three months.. but he is not the original surgeon I choose.. I had to transfer to him when my surgeon got fired from my program and they gave us choices of where we could go.. He has a lot of experience and I think he is a great surgeon but he is too busy.. people are in and out of there like cattle.. I feel it is way too rushed.. but oh well that is what I have to deal with..so I will make the best of it.. the nut is great .. she took bariatric nutrition in college and that is all she has ever done since graduation.. so I think she is good..

Well I am going to try to hit my mini goal but as of today I am not sure.. I have a bad cold.. I lost my voice yesterday and today it is in my chest.. when I try to exercise all I do is cough.. and pee lol....so I can't exercise.. I did do some walking on the treadmill but slowly as to not get the coughing started.. I hate chest colds.. but I am still going to try to keep moving..

Thanks for sharing with me.. I do not try to compare but I think the numbers people are seeing in weight loss inspires me that I can do it too.. so thanks again..

Huggs....

Teresa, First of all you seem like such a great person and you always have such positive and helpful things to say to me when I post. Thank you for that. Regarding your post...yes I think you can get rid of those 6 lbs before your 3 month visit BUT if you don't - - it should not even matter because you have done awesome! Congrats on your success and good luck on your visit. Make sure you keep us informed. *****Doing the happy dance with you******

Thank you so much for what you said.. made me smile.. I try to stay positive and I hope I can help people on here.. I am not a know it all by any means.. I am still a newbie after surgery and learning still, But I have studied for 5 years while waiting to get surgery and I do think I can help people with some things.. .. I also have been through a lot in the past few years.. I am a rape survivor... I have had a lot of counceling and that has made me realize that postive attitude is so important.. I do take anti depresants and they do help too but the attitude is so so important... and I feel it is important with the WLS too.. so many of us.. yes including me,  get so depressed with what our bodies are doing.. there are so  many  great people on this forum that has help me get through those times and I am glad to know that I have made a postive impression on you.. and I hope on other too..

Yes I am aiming for the loss of 100lbs by the appointment next Monday but if I do not make it that will be ok too.. I will just set another date as the goal and go fot it.. goals are not set in blood thank God..

thanks for the congrats.. glad you are doing the happy dance with me.. not fun to dance alone.. lol...

huggs..

Teresa - I'm with Sunshine - if you do it, yay!  If not, yay anyway!   You are doing well and rockin' your tool.  Just keep doing that and you'll hit goals and feel great - you already do.

Yes Mary I do feel great.. I am yelling YAY everyday for my accomplishments so far.. If I make the goal I will have to yell it a little louder.. lol.... but if I dont I will still say Yay.. for what I have lost by then and I  will just set a new date and go on from there..

Goals are helpng me stay focused but as I told Sunshine there are not writen in blood.. so they can be motified.. If I let goals that I dont reach by a certain date effect me then I will never get anywhere..

I do have a yay or wow  moment to share.. I shaved my legs yesterday by myself for the first time in years.. I know that may sound like a silly wow moment but it was big for me.. so see I did reach a goal this week.. yippee... yes it was one of my goals to achieve..
 with weight loss.

thanks for the encouragement and kind words. they are greatly appreciated..

huggs.
