How about a hummingbird?  I'd suggest doing some research.  You want the best artist you can find.  I have one tattoo.  It's a very girly version of my husband's monogram which happens to  have my initials in it.  Loris

I totally am planning on getting a WLS tattoo- and I don't know what to get either!! I have a friend who had her's just after ours and she gets a butterfly tat after each 10 lbs lost, but if I did that I'd be head to toe in butterflies!

Plus, I'm not a girlie girl and don't want a froo froo tat, I want something strong and powerful. The pic in my siggy is one of the 4 that I have but to make a long story longer- I still don't know what to get.

On the upside I already know where I'm getting it...where I got my last two Black n' Blue Tattoo out here in SF, it's an all women owned an operated shop.

Glad you posted this as I'd love something on my hip or somewhere hidden. (I'm old and mostly conservtive).  I want the people taking care of me in my old age to flip me over and say, "hey, this old lady has a butterfly on her butt!"

I got my first and only right after finishing my MBA.  I had worked full time and went to school full time while raising my daughter alone, so you can only imagine how important it was to me to finally be done.  The symbol (without the flowers) is an Adinkra symbol with the meaning of "changing or transforming your character." It combines two Adinkra symbols, the "Morning Star," which can mean a new start to the day, placed inside of the wheel, which represents rotation or independent movement.

I added two forget me not flowers, one for my kiddo and one for me.  I loved the blending of the past and future in this tattoo.

I hadn't considered getting a second representative of my WLS journey, but now my wheels are turning!!!

As soon as I get my nerve up, I'm going to get one on my foot, just below my big toe that has my previous weight (374) in a circle with a slash through it.  As I take a step each day, it will remind me of the long journey that I've been on.

I never want to go back there again!
