My doc's nut said to get at least 50 g of protein a day. But they tell absolutely everyone the same thing whether you're getting an RNY with 200 pounds to lose or a lapband with 75 to lose. Some of the other things his nut was telling me to do got me questioning her advice.

After reading stuff here on OH, I shot for 80 - 100 g of protein a day. My doc's office was really pleased with my progress at 6 months out, but then they told me to cut back my protein. I didn't. After the holidays,  I really think my latest stall was exacerbated by not getting in enough protein.

I'm not a nutritionist. But I think since we're so big to start with that we need to get the extra protein (at least until we're down to a lightweight BMI (225?).

It will get easier. You will be able to drink a lot more, more quickly. And it's easier to get the protein in when you can eat meat.

But you're doing great for where you are!!  ((HUGS))

So you feel that more protein helps you lose weight, even if it means more calories? I will get to 63 for today, but it feels like a real push to get that much in. I think I need to look for some more tolerable ways to sneak extra protein in. I really wish there was something odor free!
