Hi guys..

Just thought I would do an update on my inches..  I was going to measure on the 23rd my 2 month surgriversary but I forget I guess.. so I got out the tape today and I was surprised..

my weight is now at 219lbs that makes a total weight loss of 84lbs.. and I am down 50.5 inches.. yippee...

Heaviest weight  Feb 4, 2009  ....   303 lbs
Surgery weight   Nov 23, 2009....   236 lbs
Current weight   Jan,26, 2010...     219 lbs

First measurements date was in August and I had already lost over 50lbs but that is the only starting point I have..

August  2009                            Jan 2010                                        total lost
waist       63 inches                        45.5 inches                             17.5 inches
hip           58 inches                        49  inches                                9 inches
Chest      55 inches                        47 inches                                 8 inches
neck        17 inches                        14.5 inches                              2.5 inches
bicep       18 inches                        15 inches                                 3 inches
forearm  12 inches                         10 inches                                 2 inches
thigh        28 inches                         22 inches                                6 inches
calf          18  inches                        15.5 inches                             2.5 inches
_______________                         _________                              ________
total         269 inches                         218.5 inches                           50.5 inches( yippee))

I knew that I was loosing inches instead of lbs but I had no idea that I had reached 50inches gone.. but this morning I grabbed a new pair of pants from good will and didn't look at the size.. I just went and got pants because my others the crotch was at my knees.. lol.. but I bought several sizes so I can go down with them,.. well anyway I got the pants on and then later when mom came to drop off her dog for the day she said I thought those pants were going to be too little for awhile.. I couldn't remember the size so I looked.. they are a 12/14... yes they are Danskin stretch pants but still I was so thrilled... all my other stretch pants are 18's and some are 16's but I never dreamed I get my fat butt into a 14 for a long time.. that is when I decided to measure..

So I guess all the Wii Fit is paying off.. and the treadmill and also the extra housework too.. so I am going to keep moving..

Thanks to all of my OH friends who have been so supportive to me and for keeping me encouraged.. you are all so great  and I feel blessed to have you there for me.. I have been trudging along like a turtle but it is paying off..

huggs.....

Teresa - WOW!!  Way to go!  That has to be a great feeling - those numbers are way more important than what is on the scale - although you have done great there too!

Congratulations, and keep up the great work!

It  IS a great feeling.. I was feeling down because the scale was moving so slow but now I feel great and it got my motivation going again..

I am hanging in there.. working hard.. none of this is easy.. but such great rewards..

This is GREAT Theresa. How is your back holding up with the exercising? Sounds like you are doing FINE with it.

I went on a quilt retreat with some friends last weekend and it's always a hassle for me to see if I can buckle the seatbelt and I was able to buckle up in the back seat!!! Hurray! I felt pretty proud of myself. All these new things we can do that "normal" people have been doing all along are pretty SWEET.

My back is doing ok.. I get really sore and I go soak in a hot tub and it helps and then I am careful the next day.. I have figured out on Wii fit the things I cant do so I stay away from them.. between my back and my knees I am limited but I still can get in a pretty good workout.. especially when I consider that a year ago I was having to use a wheelchair to do anything..

How great you fit in the seatbelt.. a great WOW moment.. I know you must have felt like you were on cloud nine.. I am so happy for you.. fear of not fitting into a seatbelt in someone else's car can be so bad , but to get in and have the belt fit..especially the back seat belts, they tend to run smaller.. that is fantastic..

Yes Rhonda.. we have things to look forward to that the light weights never have to think about.. but to me thats ok .. that just means we have a lot more WOW moments to celebrate.. lol..
Forget normal people.. they have no idea what any overweight or obese person goes through.. mush less morbidly obese or super morbidly obese.. with each stage it seems you gain a few more limitations and now as I am going down in sizes and at least on stage I can see the limitations being lifted a little at a time.. but it is funny how all of a sudden we stop and think hey I am doing this or that.. and it be something most everyone of smaller sizes takes for granted.. so yes  we have a lot more WOW moments..

So do like I am and enjoy each and every one of them..

I have a journal and I am writing them all down.. it is amazing the things you never think of and I am afraid that one day I will forget all the limitations I had so I am making note of it..

huggs
