I posted yesterday...and now again today. I hope you don't get tired of me just yet....lol

When I got home from work yesterday I had a package waiting for me! It was my brand new weight scale I bought off the internet! This is not just any scale....it is my very first scale. I haven't owned one since I moved out of my Mom and Dad's house when I was 19. I ripped open the box, popped in the batteries, glanced at the instructions, and hopped on.

It read......ERROR in big, bold letters! Now, please keep in mind I bought this particular scale because it clearly states it reads weight up to 450 lbs. I am currently between 390-400 lbs. I don't know exactly because I don't have a scale!!!!!!

For some reason this upset me so much I burst into tears and also woke up this morning thinking about it. My son, who is 10, told me they must have sent me a broke one and that I need to send it back. God Bless him...he is the sweetest child on earth.

In my mind, I know it is not broken because when I son jumped on it....it read perfectly. I weighed myself on carpet, marble, and cement....nothing....just ERROR!

I realize this is not the end of the world. I realize I can just send it back to the place I ordered it from....I'm just felling very blue about it. I really wanted to track my progress since I will be having RYN (lap) on 2/26/10. If anyone knows of a good scale...please share. Thanks for listening.

my scale reads ERROR if you just step on it.... I've discovered that I need to 'tap' it with my foot.. let it come on and reset to '0' and then get on it for it to register my weight right.... and I've been below 200 for a few yrs now... LOL

I'm with your son... send it back.... they must have sent you a defective one....

It says it is accurate to 550.  When I was my highest at 491, it was not as accurate, but when I got down about 450 or so it got a lot better.  I am currently 377 and it is always within 2 pounds of any of my doctor's offices.  It has a feature that it can actually say your weight.  However, I usually have it on silent mode now, but at my highest it came in handy not having to try to see the digital readout under my stomach!

I highly recommend this scale.

Mine says error sometimes too...but not every time. I jsut finally got a scale last week.
I do step down hard on it and let it do its thing, say 0.0 and then I have to step on it and stand super still.  I havent yet been able to compare it to my Dr's scale but its exactly a match with my friends wii fit and her scale too so thats got to be a good sign!
