My WOW moment!
I sat on the floor last night cross-legged (indian-style).
I haven't done that in years!!! I had been wanting to see if I could.. and last night the thought came to mind to try... I actually almost talked myself out of it because I was afraid I would fail... so I didn't listen to that negative voice.. tried.... and
I DID IT!!!
Also, the act of doing it made me realize how much I need to stretch my muscles more besides just exercising and really work on becoming limber again... but I DID IT!!! Just thought I would share.
IT WAS AN AMAZING FEELING! ...the Splitz are next!!!

I can remember the first time I got in the floor and was not afraid I wouldnt be able to get up.. I was so happy.. then about a month later I was in the floor playing with my grandson and suddenly I realized I was sitting Indian style. as you say... I couldnt believe it either.. and yes stretching is as important as exercise..
I am so happy for you.. any wow moment calls for a post.. I love to hear the wow moments.. sometimes I realize that I had missed that one or can't wait until I can do that.. so keep us posted as you go..
again congrats... make sure you stretch more before trying the splits.. lol...

CONGRATS on ur wow!!!!
ive always been extremely flexible but my fat was in the way of certain movements.. my recent indian style moment was sitting in our $200 desk chair that i was afraid to sit in cuz i didnt want to break it.. i tried once last yr an couldnt fit.. width wise.. ya know... rear end wouldnt fit inbetween the chair arms.. anyhow.. not only can i sit in the chair but sit in it indian style an spin round n round.. lol i was like a kid other day... was so much fun![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/party4.gif)
and as for sitting on the floor i spent most of my life on the floor.. because i was very afraid of breaking furniture.. my mom drilled that into my head as a child... always saying make a pallet ur to heavy to sit there etc.. so i just assumed my place was on the floor. i will admit it was very hard to get up an i usually needed some kinda help, but now its effortless other then the pain i still have in my knees etc... but its no where near the struggle it used to be..![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/grouphuddle.gif)

Spinning in the office chair sounds like fun.. like an amusement ride..![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/rofl.gif)
I can not go there yet.. I can however sit therewith my arms next to my side between the arms of the chair. I couldnt believe that .. I was typing away one night and realized both my elbows were no longer on the arms but had slipped inside the arms next to my sides..
Maybe one day I will be able to get in the chair and spin.. when I do I will think of you girlfriend.. lol
huggs......

Oh Peggy!!! I feel ya! I am sorry that you experienced that, but am so happy for your journey and that the "struggle" is getting better.. and I love hearing about your fun "like a kid moments".. be careful though... you might not want to end up on funniest home videos spinning around in that chair!!! Big Hugs!!!
That is exactly why I love this forum .. people with BMI's over 50 really understand about the things we are limited from doing.. most light weight obese people dont have to worry about all the things us over 50 people do.. we are so limited that it does feel embarressing sometimes that we can't do the simpliest things.. but man oh man.. we can really look forward to some great wow moments..
We also really know how to support each other.. such great people on here..
glad you are moving easier.. that is the first thing I noticed and loved..
