Feet hurting...help!?
I also wear New Balance.. the style you choose is a personal choice.. I woudl go to a store that carries a lot of New Balance and try them on.. find the one that feels the best and also let the store clerk help you in the fittiing.. you might need and wide and you might not... I always wore a wide New balance but now I have lost from an 8 1/2 wide to a 7 normal width.. so please get fitted do not just buy online.. your feet are so important and need to be in the right shoe..
New Balance was recommende to me by my Chiropractor .. they not only helped my feet problems and from hurting but also my knees and back .. they are a very supportive shoe..
also like Pam said .. a good padded sock can help a lot too.. be careful on inserts..many can have too low of arches or too high.. they are not a one type fits all ...
Good Luck in your search for a good fit in a shoe and less pain..

Yes, New balance are the way to go. As a physical therapist that is the brand I recommend to anyone with feet issues. I myself have very flat feet and am in pain with minimal activity. I only wear new balance. (correct width is especially important and not all stores know how to measure accurately). My podiatrist also recommends New balance. You might also want to consider seeing a podiatrist. You may have something going on such as bone spurs or plantar fasciitis which there are exercises and stretches that can help.
(Stress fractures are also a possibility with the increased activity)
Your feet are your foundation... corny but so true. It you have impropper footwear or impaired gait (walking) pattern it can lead to knee, hip and back issues.

I've found that since I've been losing weight, not only my feet, but my body mechanics have changed. I used to be knock kneed, that's going away some. I was having horrible problems with new calluses on the bottom of my feet.
Anyway, my suggestion is to save up a little money and go to a shoe store that specializes in exercise shoes and get your walk evaluated.
My feet were killing me. The brand of walking shoes I'd been wearing for years were suddenly making my feet hurt. I bought some New Balance off the internet and they just made it worse. (New Balance are great if you can find the right pair for your feet's issues.) I finally broke down and went to a runners' store down in Los Angeles I found on Yelp dot com. You really want a store that specializes in hard core exercise shoes -- your local Footlocker probably won't cut it.
They had me walk around in my socks for a litle while. I found out that the problem I'd always had with walking on the outside of my feet (oversupination?) was gone. They had me try on some men's Saucony running shoes that felt like butter on my feet.
I'm sure if you can get to a store that specializes in exercise shoes and explain that you need something that's not too expensive they can help you out. And, then if you still can't afford the ones you've tried on, buy a pair of socks to make their time worthwhile, then go home and find the same pair on the internet.
I'm still so happy with my Saucony shoes. With the rain here, the other day I put on a pair of my old Propet walking shoes and within 30 minutes my feet were hurting.
Good luck!!

I put Dr. Scholls Gel inserts in my shoes... and change out my shoes often. I have to wear business attire during the week and cannot wear sneaker all day nor would I be caught dead commuting in white tennis shoes... so the gel inserts have helped with the foot fatigue.
Besides achy feet... I ache when im going to sleep too. Sleeping on my side my knees and legs hurt when they touch .. not much cushioning left anymore... and sitting is uncomfortable.. not so much that it hurts.. but I can't find a comfortable spot. Im up standing a lot more now because it just feels better, and I know its gonna show up on my review that im hardly at my desk anymore... and that's just tough beans!
:) Hugs~
