FOOD

I am 10 days out today and I so miss FOOD... I had a wicked dream last night is this normal? I was never a steak and potato kinda girl more so, Mc Donalds, Double Stuff Oreo etc.. But I had an intimate almost sexual dream about being at a BIG BBQ like Fair(Carnival type) and each booth had a different kind of meat basted in BBQ sauce and I stop and I remember this vividly it was a BBQ grilled steak(do people BBQ steak on the grill like ribs?) and the guy pointed to me and put a steak on a plate took a CHUNKs of Bleu Cheese and smoothered it all over the steak and added mushrooms and onions on top and drizzled bbq sauce over it and handed it to me with a HUGE smile and I cut into it and all this juice was dripping and when I went to put it in my mouth I WOKE UP. Been on liquids since Dec. 21st Whoever said WLS is the easy way out has no BRAIN or knowledge AT ALL! Not only has my insides been re arranged and I am full of enough gas to open a BP station on top of it all, I CANT EAT! Thanks for allowing me to share!

Awwwwww!!!! But *LOL* I totally understand...lol it's almost like an ******ic experience. I had to stop watching throwdown with Bobby Flay for awhile because it was driving me insane!

It is going to be ok. I had to be on a liquid diet 3 wks preop and then still on liquids post op....I was ready to KILL!!!! Hang in there...it's going to get better...and before you know it, you will actually be able to eat exactly what you described, you probably won't need the bbq sauce though.

It's coming...it's coming...I know this stage SUCKS, I thought I was going to lose my mind...but instead I just lost the weight

((((Hugs))))

Food dreams aren't a big surprise.  I've had a couple of them, too.  You WILL be able to eat, for sure.  And then you will taste things and be satisfied with a much smaller amount.  That is a wonderful thing!

Sigh.

At least you're dreaming about protein. (I'm sure the bbq sauce was sugar free and the bleu cheese was low fat, right? LOL!)

Sugar free popsicles got me through! Although I never did find a pork chop flavored one -- I was soooo sick of sweet.

I'll tell you -- the day I could eat mushies I totally revelled in my 2 ounces of cottage cheese.

I realize that the BBQ is not gonna happen anytime soon, but I can have it with all the other toppings. Yes the bleu cheese was low fat...lol...
I had Luigi's Real Italian ice suger free and I wanted to cry bc it was so good! If I find any pork flavor I promise to share.
Cottage Cheese is that what I have to look forward to??

You are in what was called the head hunger phase.

I remember being early out and crying over Subway meatball sandwich commercials and I never liked those subs.

I am completely with you on WLS not being the "easy way" out.  I didn't tell many people at work that I was having WLS when I was out but if someone asks now, I do tell them and I definitely say that I had to do a lot of the work too.  Surgery is only part of it--you will be doing the rest.  If you ever watched Ruby on the Style network, she went to see a WLS and he told her that it is 75% YOU and 25% surgery.

Lol on the BP station and gas.  I am a year and a half out and if I eat raw vegies and a salad on the same day, I could open up a Citgo and a BP.

Hang in there--follow your surgeon's instructions on the food stages and it does get easier

Girl I hear you and feel your pain!!  I'm six months out and can still remember the liquid diet horrors!! Food commericals are the worst, and the dreams can drive you crazy.  Keep telling yourself its not forever.  Pretty soon you will be able to eat what you crave, just in MUCH smaller amounts.  But trust me, your going to make better choices in food.  You wont want to fill your tiny stomach with crap.  Protein Protein Protein. Pretty soon your gonna be saying, "OMG I CANNOT eat another piece of meat"  LOL.  It's a process.
And as for the gas, yep!  it happens.  My partner says I let go in the middle of the night.  LOL...it seems everything I eat gives me gas.  Gas X can be your friend!
Hang in there!
