Pre op consult...one step closer!!

I'm finally getting to see my surgeon for my pre op consult! There was a mix up with the insurance company that's been holding up the process. They sent the approval letter to my surgeon's office with my married last name and they have me with my maiden name so they didn't have a patient with that last name. I sat on the phone with the insurance girl from my surgeon's office for a while trying to figure out why they hadn't gotten the letter that was sent out in Nov. So I'm glad she cought it! I'm still legally using my maiden name until after I have surgery.
I meet with the Dr on the 25th and I'm nervous! I really wish my husband could go with me, but he has to work. The 25th is when I'll schedule my surgery date!! My mind has been all over the place lately, thinking about the surgery, the risks, the benefits. Of Course I have people telling me I shouldn't do it, I've even  had someone tell me to just go on the "Biggest Loser" HA!!! Even if I wanted to, it's not an option because of my back injuries and other injuries.
I've thought of the pro's and the cons and the pros outweigh the cons completely! I have faith in my surgeon and I have a wonderful support system which will allow me to do the best I can do! I know there will be unexpected things happen on this journey, but I'm as prepared as I can be. This site has been priceless in learning everything I can about WLS.

Wow, I had similar issues over my name . . . my insurance has me hyphenated, but legally my name is not hyphenated . . . so it has been a battle. I used to joke that insurance is so powerful it can change my name.

Good luck with your appointment. I am pre-op and having surgery in 10 days -- yikes!
