Weekly Checkin: What was your week like?
Belated Happy New Year to y'all!
Well, I'm gonna whine today. Skip to the bottom for the good stuff, if you are so inclined.
I've always been a procrastinator at work, but I usually pull a rabbit out my hat at the last minute. Did not make it last week. My mom's in the hospital and I'm majorly distracted by that and job changes in the future. I know my job with my company is going away on October 1 and I am sooooo unmotivated. Last week we had to apply for our jobs (they're being converted to government jobs). The government job application process is insane, but at least it's mostly electronic. I'm worried some 26-year-old veteran with 10 minutes experience is going to beat me out (probably unfounded -- the government folks who would hire me know me and love me).
When I get to work, my boss is going to kick my rear (she was on vacation last week). But I'm not sure how much I care because 1) she's not going to rate me again as an employee of this company and 2) she said she's not going to work for the government. (I know - things could change.) My company never fires anyone because they're paranoid about lawsuits.
I hired this woman and stepped down from the manager position because of my mother's health issues. Her management style is 180 degrees different from mine (micromanager because she's used to being one person deep) and she drives me bananas. (I have always owned up to the procrastination thing -- she is just the first supervisor that's downgraded my rating because of it.)
I WILL FINISH MY TWO PROJECTS ASAP!
Good news tho: Mom is out of the cardiac ICU and into a less serious section of the hospital.
Starting Weight: 388
Last Week: 263
Today: 264 (meh)

One food makes you larger, and one food makes you small...
Patti - I don't weight until Tuesday, but I had to pipe in here and tell you to TAKE A DEEP BREATH. If she gets too snotty about things, just let her know you are doing them now and will have something by such-and-such a time. Let her know your personal distraction (Mom) and that you are moving forward. Sometimes we anticipate the worst, when that worst never happens. I know, I'm a worrier too! Take care and cut yourself some slack.
Mary

Here is my weekly update. I am so excited that my stall ended but dreading the next one...
Highest Weight - 400
Surgery Weight - 354
Last Week - 324.4
Today's Weight - 316.4
I lost 10 lbs from last Saturday to this past Saturday. I am sure some of it might have been water weight but I will take it.
38 lbs in 6 weeks from my surgery. My clothes are starting to look really baggy but I want to wait before getting any new ones. I don't know if anyone has a Gabriel Bros. store near them but I went to the one near where I live and they had the Lane Bryant Spanx on sale for $4.99. I wasn't sure which sizes to buy so I got 3 different sizes. For that price, I couldn't pass them up. I hear they are normally like $30 or something.
Have a great week everyone!

Howdy!
Starting Weight: 380 (July 22)
Surgery Weight: 344
Last Week: 318.8
Today: 314
I'm getting closer and closer to seeing the number start with a "2" on the scale and I can't tell you how much that excites me. I haven't been under the 300 mark in probably around 8 years or so... and even when I when I was under it, it was for a VERY short period of time.
My eating has been great since surgery, but I am looking forward to going back to work tomorrow and not being so close to the kitchen. I find my thoughts on food much more at home than when I'm at work.
Though, since surgery, I've lost more weight being off of work than during the weeks I was AT work. So hmm... wonder if stress has anything to do with how much I lose? I'm sure it has some kind of impact.
I look forward to hanging out here more and getting to know you gals. There's something about talking with others that know what life is like at a pretty high weight and being with folks that are on similar paths to finding their health again.

Well I guess that it's better to be late than never:
Highest Weight: 380 Early Summer
Pre-op Weight: 372 11-17
Surgery Weight: 366 12-8
Current Weight: 330 1-4
I'm glad it's finally coming off, but my only question is, "is it coming off too fast?"
Well guess I'll see where I am next week - I may be changing my tune and wishing it was still falling off like this!!!
