Plastic surgery update
Yesterday was two weeks post op for me. I had an extended abdominoplasty and liposuction on my outer thighs. Totally self-pay and while the results are still unfolding, I am very pleased with the outcome of my TT.
I haven't seen my crotch since I was a little girl and it's just so weird to look down and not see a gut any more. I have to wear a compression garment 24/7 unless I am taking a shower but it feels really good to have it on. My outer thighs don't bulge out anymore and those will continue to reduce as the months pass. I didn't want to lose all my curves so I'm pretty pleased with the results so far.
I got my staples out at 5 days post-op from my extended incision. I still have drains in (and OMG I'm sick of smelling them!) and they probably won't come out for week and a half. Until then I have to keep my drain area covered while I shower. I can say that probably the two worst things about this surgery is the excessive itching from the dry skin and the insomnia.
I was planning on having a thigh lift to take care of the saggy, lumpy skin on the inner thighs, but there is a lot of down time with this surgery and I'm not certain I want to go through it again for my thighs.
It's definitely worth it if you can come up with the money for self-pay if your insurance doesn't cover it!
I had this surgery so that I could exercise and work out better. To hear my gut flapping against my thighs when I tried to do vigorous cardio exercise was absolutely embarrassing. But I do want to run again like I did in high school. There is a half-marathon in November and that's my goal to run.
I'll post some pics as soon as I find the cord to my camera.

Congrats on the surgery. I agree that a belly flapping noise kind of takes the romance out of exercising. Good for you for ambitious goals. My daughter is concerned about the extra skin I will have, but I can't think that far ahead. I'll worry about it later. I'm so glad you are pleased with your surgery.
