Teresa, how many goats do you have? Are they having babies all the time or are there certain times of the year? (Sorry, I'm not a country girl, obviously). I'll bet they are cute.

I'm sorry your back is still making trouble for you. Hope it gets well and STAYS well for a while. I had a minor flare up of my left knee, but it's better today. No matter what happens, I can ride the recumbent bike, so that's good.

You have a LOW goal weight, so I'm thinking it might take some time. Be patient with yourself and have faith that you might be the slow and steady "tortoise" but guess who wins the race!!
Food is for sissies. REAL women exist on skim milk, protein powder, broth and air.....

My goal weight for my height still is in the overweight range.. I will be lucky to ever get that low. I will never get to a normal weight for my height.. I would have to weigh around 100lbs or less.. that is too low..

Well my back is healing finally and feeling lots better.. I am not on the treadmill again yet but I am staying active.. may try treadmill in a couple of days.. I went to the mall and walked yesterday with my daughter.. we had a great time and exercised too.. sorry your having knee problems.. glad you can still ride the bike.. that will help your weight loss.. Yes I think mine might be like the tortoise.. as long as I win I dont care how long it takes.. lol..hard to watch the haires going by though.. lol..

My goats can have babies twice a year, but we try to not let them get pregnant and have babies in the winter like this.. it is too hard and costly.. we have a heat lamp burning in the barn now for the new ones that were born two days ago..and it has been on all month not knowning when they would come.. $$$$.. We have 4 new babies now.. one born Dec 7th a female "Tippie" and a female born Dec 17th.. named "Velvet.. both of them are inside being bottle fed.. bad mom ..lol...no milk.. and the two new ones born Dec 30th are both males .. not named because we will sell them.. we have two adult males and will sell them off after next year and buy a new male for a new blood line.. dont need any more males in this blood line..

There are 6 adults right now and 4 babies so that is 10 total.. we were thinning the herd and were going to sell them all but my daughter decided she is going to put up a fence at her place this spring and take over so she is building the herd again.. so we are keeping the two new girls..

Goats get pregnant two times a year..it  takes 5 months for one to get born.. we like to see babies born once a year and usually breed in early spring.. .. that  is what we like to see but if you cant get them seperated in time from the males, you will have babies in the winter too .. with my upcoming surgery and so much going on I did not get them seperated in time.. so now we have babies in Dec.. and if not careful they will be pregnant again in the spring and that is so hard on the adult females to have one set of kids right after another.. .. so we are gong to have to try to not have them pregnant again until 2011 spring..   well all I can say is good luck.. it is difficult to seperate them.. the males will actually starve themselves with grief if they can smell a female in heat and cant get to her.. so it is hard.. most breeders breed every time 2x a year and get all the babies they can.. but we only get about $50 for a baby so it is not worth loosing a mom for the extra money,, adult males can sell for up to $5000.0 depending on the blood line.. but see what happens when you have two stud males.. lol.. the littel red headed one will sell for about $1000.00 if we keep him til he is old enough to be a stud.. or sell him now for $50 and not have to feed him all that time.  it is a hard business and not a lot of money.. we enjoy the animals and they also keep the fields cleaned off of weeds..

well gotta run  it is too late for me I need to get to bed or I will sleep in too long in the morning.

Hope you had a great Christmas and a nice New Years Eve.. we did.. My hubby was home and that made it great..
