PICC line was fine just Influenza shot(s) rxn
I've been so busy I forgot to let my oh cyber friends know my good news!! My PICC was fine - no infection. My fever and arm redness/swelling was caused by the influenza shots I was given in the hospital. Now I remember why I always declined the flu shots the side effects I always got!! Although the PICC was sluggish on the draw at first it was good! Even better news - my labs were good so I was able to have the PICC removed on the 22! I was told that I was drinking TOO much - go figure that one out (I was still drinking the same amount as I was the week before.) I think that the low potassium level was a result of them "tanking me up" and they flooded my system. OH well I'll see what my labs say on the 5th and go from there! Thanks for all of your support while I was going through this mess post-op! Ya'll are wonderful friends!!!!!

I think that you should not have had the flu shot so close to the surgery.. but it is done now so I am glad that it is over for you and at least you wont get the swine flu on top of everything.. lol.
I am so glad that your labs are good.. I wont have mine pulled until 6 months out unless there is problems.. so far everything seems ok.. I was a little tired so I got a B12 injection on Monday but other than that I feel ok..
I am so happy that you are doing good now.. just keep on this track now.. go girll go....
