UPDATE - First Post Op Visit

First, thanks to everyone for their support through all of this drama I've been going through since surgery!!!

Second, I DON'T HAVE AN INFECTION!!!!  MY PICC LINE IS GOOD!!!!  My fever has been a reaction to having those flu vaccines that's all.  Now I remember why I always declined the flu shot in the past.  However, I still have the other issues - hopefully they'll resolve themselves!  I am going to my PCP later this morning for a follow-up and I see my surgeon/NP tomorrow to see how things are going and if we can pull this PICC.  I'll post later with the findings.

Thanks again for everything.  It's great to know that I have cyber friends out there when I need them!

I'm happy to hear your PICC line is OK! They can be invaluable for those with bad veins who need a long term IV and /or frequent lab draws. I have seen people have one as long as a year. (I'm sure you won't need one that long.) Are you able to keep oral fluids down? I hope your doc visits go well and that you feel better soon!

I have not been on OH in a couple of days.. Back problems.. in pain.. well anyway..
 
I am so sorry to hear that you had to go through all that.. I am glad that it is not an infection.. I will keep you in my prayers for the other situations to get resolved.. Pain is no fun.. I am one that really understands that.. I have lived with chronic pain almost my entire life. When the situations make it impossible to keep up with pain meds it really can make things bad..

I hope that you can get the liquids down without all the problems soon.. I also cant take any crushed meds.. they come right back up,. throwing up is worse than not taking the  meds so they are not being taken.. I have a liquid pain med.. tastes horrible but better than the crushed pills.
