Welcome!

I really can't help you a lot, but I can say "Congrats on your loss!".

It appears that most people melt from the top down. Hopefully, someone with more experience will chime in soon.

Hi Mendy - I just posted the same thing a couple days ago.  Weird, isn't it?  But I'll take it anyway I can get it!  I'm down 60 pounds and still in the same pants, but oh, well.

I can tell you this!!!!  It does take about 70-80 lbs to lose a size in pants..I was 396 at my highest..and it took 2-3 months for the sizes to go down..but then went down quick--LIterally I skipped size 24 and 22..went from 26-20 overnight it seems..dont you worry..you are a newby and your pants will get smaller...just wait.  after seeing the sizes going down..I'm alittle disappointed to still be in a 18 jean..I did fit into a 14 the other day..all depends on the brand.  but in a Lee jean i'm an 18--We can just wait it out together..I have about 40 more lbs to go to be a goal.  I figured i would bottom out at a size 14 or 16--so i guess I am on target..I have no desire to be little bitty

Wow- you have really shrunk! Congrats- I really want to be down more than I am, but I'm learning to be patient and enjoy the other benefits of WLS.

Like the fact that I can jog for 2 minutes- I was getting to the point where I couldn't walk for more than a few minutes and now I'm jogging!~

Wow congratulations on such great weight loss.. 180lbs since February..

No one really knows why women tend to loose the top half first.. but it really seems to be a pattern with severly overweight women.. the top half just melts away while the bottom half stays the same for a long time.. I lost down from a size 30 pants to a size 24 but I do not SEE the great difference that I see on the top half.. I went from a size 5x top to a size 2x top in the same amount of time.. It is hard to judge by sizes too because in jeans I am a 24 but in stretch pants I wear a 18/20.. I had on a pair of sweats the other day from Walmart and they are a size 14/16.  so see the sizes vary so mu*****lothing it is really hard to judge by the sizes..

Just keep up the loosing an the bottom half will catch up eventually with the top is what I have been told.. I hope that was a typo that you say you do not exercise.. That may be the ticket to loosing the bottom half.. try to do more exercises.. swimming is great for the BUTT and HIPS and so is water aerobics.. try some exercises just for the bottom too.. there are so many DVDs out there with exercise specifically for the target areas you need.  I am or was (hard right now till I heal more) also using a stability ball.. It helps the core muscles but there are also leg and butt exercise to do on them too.. check out exercise tapes. find one that you can do and try it..

I wish you all the best at getting the behind from being behind..
