OMG Rhonda I cen't believe your date is so close now.  I was no restricted to how much milk I could drink and I think I survived on it during my pre-op liquids.  Hang in there. No need to mourn the loss of food it will taste so much better when you can have some of that stuff again.  As for the college football as much as I love it, I am a UF alumni and as a Gotor I was not a happy camper yesterday(or today for that matter).

Ah! Well, darn. Having someone else pay for Christmas would be nice. That's generous that you get part of the trip paid for, Donna. My kids hesitate to let me pay for stuff sometimes and I keep telling them, "this is why I work, so I can help you out now and then."

I never got into those vampire movies, but I know how popular the books were. Maybe someday. I'm still hoping to read all the Harry Potter books and see those videos.

College football is the best thing ever. I live in Columbia, MO and our team has been improving.  I used to go to the games with my Dad. I don't care a thing about pro football.

Thanks for the nice distraction, ladies. I get my third half serving of protein shake soon!!! I was shocked too that skim milk and juices and all that are limited to 2 c a day. I've had LOTS of hot tea already and enough water to float a boat.

Hang in there RHonda, you can do it.  About day four the liquid diet gets a bit easier.  I still mourn food sometimes.  The first week after surgery, all I could think about was a big plate of pancakes.  I craved them so bad for some reason.  Once the weight starts melting off, it gets easier, but I still sometimes miss a big plate of food, but that's what got me to close to 400 lbs.

You can do it! you can do it!!! I had to be on my liquid diet for 3 weeks and i was pure EVIL LOL

It is all worth it in the end. I remember going to see my NUT who told me, once you have the surgery you will forget how miserable you are now. I had to do everything in my power not to reach across the desk and strangle her!!! LOL

Luckily, I made it, so did she...and so will you

I told the people at work that they should look in my office now and then to make sure I'm not gnawing at the desk. They promised to check on me. My office is on the way to the place where people smoke, so there's lots of traffic.

I really AM looking forward to having baggy pants and feeling different. It's been many years since I lost any significant weight.

Linda, pancakes are one of the things I will mourn too. Just love those soggy carbs with melted butter and syrup!

Were you guys so freezing COLD when you were doing pre op liquids? I want to try a popsicle, but I'm just too cold..

My dogs are used to me feeding them tidbits when I eat and they are really sad that it's only broth and protein drinks now. They keep climbing on my belly when I'm sitting in the recliner and staring me in the face as if to say, "what's the DEAL here??" They could always count on ME for a snack.

Oh i can soooo feel your pain lol I went on my liquid diet the last week of november and had to keep it up until my surgery on 12/16. I was FREEZING!!! I didn't want to drink anything else because I was tired of being cold. I bought the popsicles but i never ate them because of the cold. The shakes were cold...aaggghhhh! Finally my counselor came to my rescue and gave me this creamy chicken soup that has lots of protein and didn't have any noodles or anything so it was good for my liquid diet and i could omit some of those shakes. It tasted like the most delicious thing I had ever had before LOL

As for the dogs, i have a boston terrier and i used to think, wow...it is so cheap to feed him, I only have to buy one 45lb bag of dog food every 5 months or so. I didn't realize he wasn't eating his food because I was always feeding him mine LOL Well, needless to say the dogfood bill has increased, especially during the time of the liquid diet, he was looking at me like what is going on?? lol

Fortunately we both survived...as will you. I'm going to look when I go home and see what the name of that company is with the soup. it's mail order and it might not be in time for your pre op liquids, but it will help after the surgery if you're interested.

You know it really HELPS when you have the same symptom that someone else had. Makes me feel like things are coming along fine. I'm not used to having to bundle up. All these clothes are cramping my style!

Sure, I'll take the soup name, although I think I'm set with broth thickened with unflavored Unjury. I put it in a bowl and HOLD the bowl to keep my hands warm. Then I sniff the heat and drink it. You'd think it was the BEST food EVER.

My emotions seem better today and I have surgery  a week from today!!

I'll bet my two dogs will eat more dog food now too. Poor things. I'm trying to give them lots of attention.

I wrote my quilting friends that food is for sissies. REAL women exist on skim milk, protein powder, broth and AIR.

That's the motto for women on preop diets.

Hang in there! Wait until after your surgery -- it's a little easier.
