OMG you sound exactly like me I also have to do a two week liquid diet and I am going to do everything in my power not to fail.  I went to the vitamin shoppe and a lady told me about a drink that will actually fill you up and she said only drink half, can't think of the name right now but when I go home I will look in the refrigerator and let you know.  I'm so excited that the day is almost here for my insurance company to say APPROVED. When do you start your two week liq diet?  Good luck to you.

My surgery is scheduled for May 5th, so I'll start my pre-op diet around April 21st... OMG, my twin sons' birthday is April 26th!  No cake and ice cream for me.  Poo.

But still.... worth it!

I barely lost anything. I don't know if it was what I drank but he said I had no internal fat in me after the surgery. His asstiant told it the diet wasn't really for weight loss. Because I mentioned that someone else lost 28 lbs on that alone.
To avoid headaches though make sure you buy swansen broth. the sodium helps! A lot of people had terrible headaches. I did too but when I had the soup they would go away.

I am 1 week into my 2 week pre-op liquid diet.  I can't lie...I'm hungry.  I want to chew.  Anything.  I'd be happy with a head of lettuce.  But I'm sticking to it.  The hardest part is the protein shakes.  They're fruity and the sweetness gets tiring.

BTW I lost 7 pounds so far.

I hear ya. I am only on day 3 of my liquid diet, but it's my 2nd time doing it. Last time I got a week into it and got Bronchitis and had to reschedule. I had never been so excited to eat anything in my whole life. lol I agree the protein shakes are the hardest part. I don't like sweet things and they are REALLY sweet. I keep telling my husband, "All I want is brocolli" lol.
I know you'll hear "the first few day are are the hardest" over and over and over again. It's true. Something that I have found that helps me alot is chopping up celery and cooking it in the broth like a soup. It's not delicious but it helps.

What shakes are you drinking that are sweet? I'm on my liquid diet- I have to do 3 weeks!! I hate my protein shakes- they are not sweet and have an awful after taste.  I would like to find something tolerable. Thanks.

I found postop most creamy shakes were way too sweet. Even the ones I loved preop.

Maybe you can add some Splenda to what you have now? Your tastes will change postop and you shouldn't stock up on any brand in particular.

Good luck!
