I think Patti's got enough on her plate for now, so I'll post this....
How's everyone doing this week? I started jogging a bit and that was a huge NSV for me!

Well, I survived Thanksgiving without too much familial bloodletting.
We went on two long walks and felt pretty good afterwards. The big meal was just a meal. Didn't eat a whole bunch of the leftovers. Although we tried an experiment with putting greek yogurt in the mashed potatoes. It was fine at the big dinner, but then it made the leftover potatoes taste more and more sour as time went on.
The leftovers are mostly gone. (We have a family tradition of keeping the cranberry sauce until mid-January when it is suitably green and fuzzy -- can't mess with tradition.)![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/sick.gif)
Now I really want to get the Christmas tree up. 26 days to X!
I do much better when Thanksgiving is earlier in the month.

Thanksgiving was interesting.
I was watching my bro-in-law gobble down big ole chunks of gravy laden turkey and huge spoonfuls of stuffing and I have to admit I was a bit envious. I had a moment when I wished I still had my huge stomach.
I did okay with the meal. About 2 oz turkey with a bit of gravy on it, two tiny little sweet potatoes slices and about a tablespoon of stuffing. After the turkey and a bit of each of the other I was pretty much stuffed. Quite a difference from Thanksgivings past.
Sister Jane and I hiked every day we were there which was great. Patti got a bunch of huge rocks for her garden thanks to the wagon we dragged easily a mile with 150 to 200lbs of rocks in it. That work out was Biggest Loser style for sure. I'm surprised that the poor little wagon and that we made it. My heart rate got to 150 at one point and I was getting a bit of a head ache. The next day my arms and legs hurt when I woke up. It was definately a team effort to get it in.

I'm relieved to see the scale FINALLY moving. The last two weeks I've had about a pound or a pound and a half for the entire week. I just hope I keep up with this trend.
Have a great week!! And Sis, LOVE the new avatar pic! You and your cheshire cat grin....priceless!

Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. Mine was nice. I cooked a huge turkey, 26.17 lbs. It was a bit big for the turkey bag and just before it was done, the juices spilled out into the oven and the bag caught fire. My husband saw a little flame. So I rushed over and thought I turned the oven off, but really turned it on broil. I got the extra juice out so it would quit spilling out. Then a few minutes later, my niece says the turkey looks burnt. I looked at it and the bag had melted off and the top of the turkey looked like charcoal. Then I saw I had actually put it on broil and not off. But turns out the skin was the only thing burnt. The turkey was nice and moist and tasted good. I had a little bit of turkey, a teenie bit of mashed potatoes and a spoonful of corn, about 5 cashews and that was it. In my head, I missed having a huge plate of food, but in my belly, I was full. The other day I tried some salad and it went great. I've read some people have trouble with lettuce at first, but it went okay. I ate a couple cucumbers and radishes in it and no problems.
I went to a Singing Christmas Tree program on Saturday. We go most every year and usually the sides of the seats are digging into my legs, but this time, I fit perfectly and they didn't dig into me at all. I actually felt like a normal person sitting there.
Have a good week.

I havent posted to the "monday weigh-in" for 3 weeks cuz I was being a big ole baby and pouting because the scale hadnt moved. I tell ya, the stalls are moral killers...but I muddled thru, got more protein in, walked more, and BOOM! the scale moved. Funny how that works huh?
Thanksgiving went well. I REALLY missed the huge plate of food, and the all day eating marathon of thanksgivings past. We went to my inlaws house so there were no left overs here. My poor partner tho..I wanted a bite of pie, so I asked her to get a piece so I could have a bite...turned into 4 pieces of pie for her, minus 4 bites..LOL. Good thing she has the motabolism of a hummingbird.

I did OK on Thanksgiving, but did alot of grazing and snacking over the weekend. I'm back on track now. I'm doing more walk/ jogging. My goal this week is to get at least 5 workouts in. I'm trying to increase intensity and distance, and increase my weight workouts by 5-10 minutes. I love the results from weight training, but I hate doing it, and end up not pushing myself much beyond my comfort zone.
Have a great week everyone!
