What are you thankful for?
I am thankful to be 8 weeks out from surgery and already feeling better.
I'm thankful that some chairs that have been uncomfortable (like at a favorite coffee shop) are already better!
I'm thankful that my dh got his surgery date (Dec. 16).
I'm thankful that I have a job, roof over my head, and a car.
I'm thankful that I have a supportive group of OH friends that care!
I'm thankful that clothes are fitting better, looser, and that I have more to grow down into!
I'm thankful that I have medical insurance that paid for my surgery.
The list goes on... what about you?

Mary, this is a great idea!
I'm thankful for my vastly improved health: no more diabetes, my asthma has improved exponentially, and my PCOS is resolving.
I'm thankful I was able to give up so many of the meds I was taking and will save big bucks on those co-pays!
I'm thankful that I have a good gym to go to, and thankful that I am now able to do things like Zumba, Body Pump, and Step.
I'm thankful for my family, who have been very supportive, and supportive friends as well.
I'm thankful for the support of OH friends.
I'm thankful for the vast array of clothing options I now have!
I'm thankful I have a job I enjoy and a home I love with a sweet orange kitty waiting for me.
I'm thankful that I can walk and walk all day without excruciating back pain -- I can walk all day in NYC, at Universal Orlando, or even the mall without a second thought.
I'm thankful that booths and chairs with arms no longer scare me.
I'm thankful that I chose this surgery for myself, and have chosen to comply with the requirements afterward and put myself and my needs first.
My list goes on and on, too. This year I am especially aware that I have a great many things to be thankful for!

I'm thankful that I'm almost 8 months out and I feel fine (well, I am freezing most of the time, but that's another matter).
I'm thankful my mom's health is stabilized right now and that she's been cleared medically to have her heart valve surgery (not being cleared would have been worse).
I'm thankful I'm fitting into clothes I haven't worn in 3 or 4 years. (I'm rediscovering my sweater collection and due to freezing all the time I can actually wear them!! My new goal is to fit into the size 24 Levis[!!!!] someone gave me -- when they fit they will be the first Levis I've ever worn!)
I'm thankful my sister had her surgery and seems to be doing fine (although she's a little grumpy about being on mushies -- but who isn't at that stage?)
I'm thankful my 'wonderful' brother is only spending 8 hours at my house this holiday. (I really do love him, but if you get all us siblings together WWIII breaks out.)
I'm thankful I had a year's notice about my job going away (10 months to go).
I'm thankful I have a wonderful hubbie and a daughter who is a gift from God/Buddha/Great Spaghetti Monster/supreme diety of your choice).
And... I'm thankful I have the support of a great group of folks here on OH (even when I write stupid posts without thinking them through completely).
Hugs to everyone.

I"m thankful for:
My wonderful supportive and loving partner. Without her, this wouldnt have been possible. She's my rock.
My wonderful friends, who are my chosen family.
My animals, that all are healthy and loved.
My job..THANK GOD...I was beginning to think I'd never get one.
My home...it truely is a home.
My ins. company that paid for the surgery.
Chairs that my ass can fit into now.
Resturant booths, where theres room between me and the table.
Sitting in a kitchen chair and putting my socks and shoes on.
Being able to feel bones...who knew I had bones?? lol
Walking.
Being able to walk past the donuts at work and not have one, AND not feel deprived.
And last, but certainly not least, all of you here on the 50 and over forum. I've learned alot from your journeys. Thank you all for being willing to share your triumphs and your failures..your ups and your downs.
Like everyone, my list could go on and on. But I'll end with this. I never once considered how much losing, so far, 140lbs, could change my life. Not just the physical, but the mental as well. My over all being is just so much better, happier, and peaceful. It never occurred to me, outside of the physical, that my life would get better. I was happy when I weighed 423lbs...I liked me, so I never once thought of the mental improvements that would happen. What a glorious suprize!

Nice to hear all of that, April. I, too, was a happy individual and enjoyed my life. But I know the improvements of the weight loss will just add to that and I'm grateful for that.
