WELL, I AM FINISHING UP MY SECOND WEEK ON PUREED FOODS.  I DID HAVE A SLIP UP LAST WEEKEND, BUT HAVE BEEN BACK ON SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK.  I HAVE BEEN WEIGHING EVERY DAY BASICALLY BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN AMAZED WATCHING THE WEIGHT COME OFF, BUT I HAVEN'T LOSS ANYTHING THIS WEEK.  WHATS GOING ON?  WILL I RESUME MY WEIGHT LOSS?

I AM GETTING ABOUT 24 OZ OF WATER IN AND ALMOST ALL MY PROTEIN.

I WAS 314# AT CONSULT
i WAS 300# BEFORE SURGERY
I WAS 304# WHEN I GOT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL
I HAVE BEEN 280# ALL WEEK

I AM NOT TAKING IN MORE THAN 600 CAL. DAILY

WHAT SHOULD I BE DOING??

Short answer:  Relax and dont weigh everyday!

I am in the same boat right now (Also a VSG).  Today is my 1 month surgiversery.  I have not lost any weight in the last 9 days.  Everyone says there is always a stall at 3 to 4 weeks out as your body adjusts to surgery.  It is annoying as heck!  But, I log everything and I have been averaging about 65 g protein and 80 ounces fluid. so I know that there is no reason why my body would be maintaining and eventually it should catch up with itself.   I am also still on pureed food.  I think I stay on it until I see the NUT Dec 14th, which is basically my 2 month appointment.  I would say though really work on your water intake.  You dont want to get dehydrated and I do think it helps push things along if you know what I mean.

Also look at your measurements and how much weigh you lost overall.  Overall in the last 30 days I have lost 31 pounds so something sure the hell is working.  But damn it, I do want to see more melting!  We will just have to be patient.  I have been trying to up my protein intake but it is really hard because of getting full so fast and since surgery I still have never been hungry.  I have to really stay conscious about eating on a schedule or I could easily forget because I am not really all that interested in food these days.

Here's hoping we both get out of these stalls and back to melting ASAP!!

Your body is freaking out.

Breathe. Try to get your fluids in. Get your protein in. Eat high protein mushies. Repeat.

It happens to a lot of people. Your body will get back on the program when it's ready.

Check your measurements -- you may be dropping inches.

The 3-week stall you read so much about is a true phenomenon.  I was averaging a pound a day until I was just shy of 3 weeks postop, and I hovered at the same weight for most of this past week.  I knew it was coming so I didn't get upset.  I'd already be weighing only once a week but I really wanted to see if the 3-week stall happened to me, and it did.  I was weighing just to watch the process mostly, lol.

Yesterday I stepped on the scale and had lost 3 pounds.  I guess it's on again!  Also, during my almost weeklong stall, I know I was still losing inches, because 3 of my 4 rings fell off my fingers where they were only loose before.  I can only wear one now.

Sometimes it's stop and go with weight loss.  Don't lose faith, just keep doing what you know you should.  Best of luck!  :)

I stalled from just about my 1 week post op appt til my 1 mos....but then it started again and I feel like I am still well within normal averages of loss.  (tho I also feel like I was robbed of 3 weeks worth of loss, I guess we are never happy enough)

But it is happening be patient!

if u havent started measuring i suggest u start now........ there will be times where it will be the only thing that helps u keep ur sanity... trust me!! sometimes it seems like forever when the scale doesnt move but inches will be falling off...
