Hi All,

I want to say Hi and that is a great board for support!   I am a 37-yr old female with a BMI of 52.  I am scheduled for the VSG on Feb 10.  I was originally set to go on Dec 2nd but I had to postpone due to financial reasons.  That kinda took the wind out of my sails but I am trying to keep my goals in sight and use these months to become fitter before the surgery.   It is difficult to be back on a regular diet after thinking I was close to the operation and having more than a few "Last Suppers".  I want to lose at least 20 pounds before Feb--however, I was never a championship dieter in the first place.  I did lose 60 lbs a couple of years ago but gained 1/2 back due to stress eating.
I started seeing a therapist who specializes in eating disorders and with her help I hope to make it through the Holidays actually becoming healthier.  At least that's the plan but I know it will be a struggle.  I have to remind myself that I do deserve to get healthy.
I look forward to being part of this forum.

Welcome to the Board. Nice folks here. I've been here since June and have spent a lot of time online with good nutrition and exercise sites like Spark People or Prevention. There is a TON of health information available. You can use these months to try different lower calorie foods and find some that are as good as the old fattening ones.

I also did counselling and it helped me have a more positive outlook. I took chair yoga and learned to relax. I bought some essential oils and learned to enjoy my environment. Recently I got a recumbent bike, which I love, so I can exercise AND watch my shows. So there's lots of learn before surgery. I just got approved today and am looking forward to moving on.

Good luck to you.

Welcome to our little corner of OH!

I know all about too many last suppers!! I was approved for surgery in November and didn't have it until April because of backups getting my preop clearances.

Try not to be tempted!
