I am really confused, I don't know where to start here.

Start: 487 lbs (8/07) Lost 81 lbs pre op on South Beach. 406 lbs at surgery (6/08). 179 post op, by 2011. I  lost 308 lbs. Gained 98 while pregnant (2012-13) lost all but 25. My goal is to be 179 again!

Let me know if you need help with writing letters for it (from you and the docs).  And if you dont' have a dermatologist yet, be sure to get one.  Good luck with it!

Can you tell me more, I have tried to get it done and I have medicaid and blue cross blue shield and they wanted me to loose 45 pounds and hold it there for 18 months. I didn't know medicaid would do it. Please tell me more and about the dermatoligist

I have Empire Blue Cross, and their requirements for the panni are published on their site.  I'm an exceptional case, because I'm not the average WLS patient who started out with a BMI around 40. Mine was 77 and most of my weight was in my mid-section.

I've been seeing the dermatologist for 6 months, and having her document my skin troubles and what treatment we've done for them, and she wrote a letter in support of my having the panni done.  Now that I have an appeal underway I'm also getting letters from my gyn and bariatric surgeon, and of course I had one from my PCP as well.

Good luck with it.

My gyn didn't do anything, but I am getting copies of my medical records and my ciropractor. I started at 395 and now I am 250.

Which letter?  I didn't have to write one from me until I started the appeal of their original denial.  The doctors knew what to write for the other letters.  Once you see a plastic surgeon, their insurance people start the process.
