I need some guidance.... :(
So I had my three month appt this morning for the 6 month weight loss surgery, and I GAINED 6 POUNDS!!! I know I havent been doing that well, but 6 pounds is a little overboard! I went from 284 to 290!!
So I'm frustrated about that. My BP was high also, but I hadn't had my pills yet either so thats expected. But now I'm stressing over that stinkin weight gain! I just can't believe that....I am scared that my insurance company is gonna say that I'm not trying and is not gonna approve me in the end. But my goal this month is to lose that six pounds and a few more. I don't wanna lose too much and then have them deny me and say I can do it on my own. Because I can't!
I just need some support, and past expierences please! Thanks.....

It is so HARD to diet without a tool like WLS. We all know that. Step back, and go back to the basics. You don't have to worry about losing too much, they aren't concerned - they just want to be assured that you can do it. Do your best and weigh yourself weekly, so you don't have such a big surprise on your next visi****er, moving, veggies/protein! Good luck - you'll get there.

Maybe you are blaoted...I gain and lose 11 or 12 lbs each month pre period. It was more when I was SMO. Being female stinks sometimes. Keep trying and it will happen. Just concentrate on protien foods and veggies. It worked for me, even though I messed up and had bad weigh ins a few times along the way . It's one day at a time. If you make a mistake, don't beat yourself up just forget about it and re start the process. You can do this.
STAY AWAY FROM THE SALT! (I can gain 10 pounds being in the same room with a box of salt.) The salt would do things to your BP as well.

You know what you need to do. We can't get to the sizes we get to without becoming experts on how to diet. The problem is keeping it off.

Don't get discouraged. I got impatient and tried to go on liquids only for a week to get my last few lbs off. Predictably, I was starvng when I got home and got into all sorts of high calorie stuff. I was like a crazed woman! (more than usual even) So I went back to protein shake for breakfast and 2 small meals and a little snack if I was "starving." I eventually got my 10% off.
So just chalk this month off as a learning experience and keep on doing what you know works. You can do it!!!

Food Journal.... I am not always the best at it but I do know it does help when I can be honest about what I am eating and then when I sometimes have a little gain or stall I can talk to the nutritionist and we can look at what I have been eating and she can help me identify where I may have veered off a bit.
Don't worry you are going to make it! You will be able to have your surgery soon I am sure of it!!!

I know my nutritionist will even help me over the phone when I can't afford to pay the co pay or just don't have the time to go it. She is wonderful and I bet your nutritionist is too. They really want what is best for us both pre and post surgery :)
