Friends, I have a feeling I've seen this question posted somewhere before. But I can't seem to find it. I have a very odd question and would like to see if anyone else is experiencing this.  For the last week or so, I have had this soreness/discomfort right on the tip of my tail bone. I mean it feels like my butt is sore! I suck in my belly and it hurts even more!! I still have a nice cushion on my butt and am convinced it can't be the weight loss. My husband actually laughed at me and said, your butt IS smaller! I don't know what to think. Please help!

It's actually a very common problem.  I had to go out and buy a "Tush Cush" and I carried it everywhere for the first few years. Heck, when we're going on a long plane flight I still take it with me.

You have lost padding in the area of the tailbone (****yx is what it's really called), it's now exposed in a way that it hasn’t been for decades.

Use the donut or tush cush and hopefully in a few months it will get better.

My tailbone hurts all the time now. But- my back, hips, knees, neck, and feet used to hurt all the time before WLS, and now they don't! I think that's a pretty good tradeoff . I have to shift position alot on long roadtrips, and in movie seats. Also, I can breathe easily, and have energy to burn, so I'll take the sore tailbone.

Thanks Jan and Pam!! I just thought it was something I was doing to cause it..guess in a way it is...all the weight loss!! And you are both right, it's a great trade off considering how far we have come!! I'm going out tomorrow to buy one of those tush cushes...I'm praying that it helps!!! Thanks for the responses!! You don't realize the peace of mind you have both brought me!!! Best Wishes!!!
