One month pic's

Hi all,

I took some one month post-op pictures today.  I can tell when I look in the mirror that I've lost wt in my face, belly and butt, but when I look at the pictures, I don't see much loss....well maybe a little in the full frontal view.  Excuse the no makeup ones with my rosacea showing...which I thought was better after surgery, but doesn't look like it in the picture.  Yuk.

Can you see any difference? Be honest, lol.

I'm not losing very fast lately. I think I'm plateauing.  How long does that last?

Thanks,
Linda

Yes I can see that you have lost weight. I can see it in your breast, your butt, and in your higher waist, below the boobs. You look AWESOME!Congrats on the weight loss, you are doing so wonderful and are looking woderful too. I live in Dallas oregon and just have to ask who did your operation? I had Nair at the salem hospital, he was so nice! Well good luck!

Hi Melissa,
Wow, you're close to me in Dallas.  Do you go to the support groups at the hospital?  I plan to but the last two I had prior committments and couldn't go. I plan to go to the next one though.

I went to Dr. Srikanth in Federal Way, Wash.   I called about Dr. Nair and Dr. Boulay, but was told on BMIs over 50, they will only do open procedures and I wanted laparoscopic.  Also, Dr. Srikanth has done over 2000 procedures whereas the hospital told me Drs. Nair and Boulay had done 200 or less.  So I went with the more experienced also.

Thank you for noticing I lost some wt in my pictures too!

Take care,
Linda

I did not go to the last one because I was in the hospital two days post op at that point. I did have an open because my bmi is high, but honestly im fine with that not so much gas in me. I will be at the next one, maybe ill see you there. I plan on posting real pictures on me.
Well take care
Melissa

Linda, You can totally see a difference!  Have you taken any measurements.  Just starting from the top, It is obvious your cheeks neck and under the chin are much smaller, your shoulders looke way narrower.  I remember reading a long time ago that you lose from top to bottom so when you first start to lose weight you see it in your face.  I would bet you lost at least an inch on your neckline.  Remember the scale is not always a great predictor and sometimes when the numbers on the scale arn't budging you can check measurements or how clothes feel.  I have a lot of water fluctuation with a posttraumatic edema in the right leg from an old injury and also my hypertension is salt sensitive.  I take HCTZ and can fluctuate with water weight of about 10 pounds some times, with 6 being about an average.  Just before my surgery, my scale went up a little but I knew I was not eating more than about 1000 calories the last few weeks before so it was not possible to gain fat and I noticed that finally my seatbelt did not feel like it was strangling me and my pants were practically falling off.  To save money, the month before my surgery I finally splurged and bought 3x jeans, which I am currently wearing 5x of (the same exact ones).  When I got them and tried them on I was pleasantly surprised I could totally get them on already.  Too tight to be wearable for the moment if I want to breath but I was just so suprised I could already get them on when my scale was not being kind in the least.  NSVs are so important, especially when the scale does not seem to budge.  You are doing great!

Donna,

I did take some measurements the other day.  I forgot to take them right before surgery, but I did take them around my highest weight.  I wrote them in this book but I can't find the book.  I was able to bring them up on Sparkspeople.com, but it only had my neck, waist and hips.   From my highest weight, I've lost 2 inches in the neck, 5.5 inches in the waist and 6 inches in my hips.

I really notice it in my truck. Before I barely was able to clip in the seat belt, now I can do it with no problem and I even put the seat back up a notch.  I had to recline it a tad to be able to get the seat belt clicked in before.  Also before when the seat belt was on, I was strangling myself to reach the radio, now I can reach okay without getting strangled.  And my belly used to just about touch the steering wheel, now I have some room.

Sometimes I get so excited inside because I know this time I really will get down to a normal weight or at least lose a lot of it.  Before on all the diets I've been on, inside I didn't really believe I would lose much, especially keep it off. Now I feel it really will happen.

Thanks,
Linda

Hi Linda!

Ditto what everyone else said! What stands out most to my eye in the front view is that your stance is not as wide. Because you are not as wide over all, the arms and stance are different.

You look great! Blue is a lovely color for you.
