Im black, and my husband is white.....

I know its not a weight loss related question, but you guys are ALWAYS here for me when I have a question so I figured you could help me again!

Every year my church has a function on the last day of the year where we all dress up and have a big fellowship at the church. Most couples like to dress in costumes that compliement eachother. For example some will come as ketchup and mustard, little red riding hood and the wolf, etc....

Since me and hubby are interracial we like to play on it. Last year we went as Scooby and Shaggy. I was gonna do salt and pepper this year, but somebody did it last year!! So PLEASE give me any ideas you have that would be good for us. It would be so great and funny to do something that relates to us being interracial! THANKS!!!

My girlfriend is married to a black man and she does the same thing for costume parties. Last year they went as Oreo and Vanilla cookies. She was the Oreo and he was the Vanilla creme. He had such a good time he's still signing his emails as Vanilla Creme!

She made the costumes. You know those reflector panels you get for your car's windshield/dashboard that are flexible and sort of fold in on themselves? She used those and spray painted them.

This might get me in trouble with the carb nazis  .

But what if you went as two halfs of a s'more. You could have the marshmallow and a graham cracker. He could be the chocolate and a graham cracker.

Food has a lot of possibilities: Red beans and rice, PB&J, chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream,
Since we can't eat it -- may as well wear it.

This makes me want to dress up. My husband is Asian and I'm white. But we're not going to any costume parties anytime soon.

We don't get out to parties either, but I like to do at least a little something for work - but something I cas easuly shed. Can you get away with that as a civilian?

Yes. Because I work in the office, I can wear something easily shed.

My daughter thinks I should dress up like Belle (Beauty and the Beast). Of course, her father has to be the Beast. I think I big hoop skirt would be a little much for work.

When I get to goal, I'm gonna wear a kimono, tho!!!

Salt & Pepper was my 1st thought too.

ETA: Just looked at last year's pic - cute! I see he's tall & slim where you are shorter & have the shape we all know - LOL! Shaggy was a natural for him! Trying to think of tall/short pairs that are funny.... You could do Boris & Natasha & switch the sex roles (he dresses as Natasha), but that is not B&W (or a fun sexy costume for you).

A reverse Kim Kardashian and her BasketBall boyfriend? Wish I had better ideas for ya.

I had a cute idea, what about a couple classes of milk, one white, and one chocolte. Its about the only thing I can think of.

Nice to see you too Melissa! You are very cute your own self! I drove my step-son to Chemeketa today and thought how wise you were this semester to take online classes.

If it doesn't have be food related you can always be a Zebra or a newpaper  if has to be food you could be a Klondike ice bar.  Hope you have a good time and post pictures of your event.

I love these costume ideas! A few year's back we had a great success on Hallowe'en. I was a beautiful mermaid. HE went as the Gorton's Fisherman! Everyone wanted to take our picture. :)
