Day 5, am I doing about normal?
I am feeling pretty good today, I even made it out to wal-mart again. I am also walking around the house atleast 5 mins per hour that I am awake. I am eatting and drinking as slow as a turtle, but it's almost 4pm and I have gotten in 30g of protein, nearly 40oz of water and some ice. Plus my multi vit, and my calcium. And my antibiotics, I want to get in 30g more of protien,( i know i should be getting closer to 70 but ill work on that tomorrow), and at leaset 20 more oz of water. I was just wondering if this is about normal? Am I getting everything done, I mean I dont want to get dehydrated, but do not want to get that bloated feeling eather. I dont have alot of pain, thank God, but my back and sides are a little sore is this normal? Oh yeah I am dreaming of food, and my sences seem to be very sensative, bright light hurts my eyes, my husbands breath is enough to kill, and things taste stronger to me, is that a normal thing? Oh and lol, I have been dreaming about food! I know I have alot of questions, but they arn't life or death so I dont want to bug my doc, and thought some one out here could help. Thanks and I hope everyone has a good weekend!
I can't help with much more than moral support.
The multiple times I have quit smoking, I have dreamed about cigarettes. Mostly that I smoked one accidently while not remembering I was a non-smoker. I think it is proabably very common to dream about something that was once a big focus in your life that you now have given up or have a new relationship with.

Walking is good...eating and drinking like a turtle is good.
Getting the whole 70 to 80 grams of protein a day is a process. You'll have to work up to it. Just get as much as you comfortably can. The amount you can do will get more as time goes by. You're only 5 days out, cut yourself some slack! Everything you've described sounds pretty normal to me, but if your concerned, call your Doc. Trust me, they have heard every question 10 times over, and you're not bugging them at all. It's what you paid them for.
I didnt dream about food, and the smell of some stuff bothered me. I think its just your body's reaction to everything you just put it thru.
Good luck, you sound like your doing well. BTW, what kind of protein are you drinking? I'm almost 3 months out and still havent found one I like and can drink with any consistancy. Right now, I'm doing the protein shots. I know they arent the best ones to drink, but its all I can get down and some protein is better than none.

Hi, Aprilrose! Just saw your post and wanted to interject. I had Lap RNY on 8/4/09 and haven't had a problem with protein since I bought the one I am using on www.buybulkwhey.com. I take one cup of milk (2%=8g of protein), one cup of water and add 2 scoops of protein whey (my hubby and I use a 40g scoop which one 40g scoop=31g of protein; we use 2 scoops for 62g of protein). Then I add some ice and a splash of SF Vanilla syrup (or whatever other SF flavor you like) and there you go. 70g of protein in a flash!! I use a blender ball with the wire piece in it to mix it all up easy and I have that for breakfast and lunch. Comes out really yummy. I've also added SF dry chocolate pudding mix to the water, milk and ice with SF white chocolate syrup. SUPER GREAT!! Tastes like a shake! The World According to Eggface has great recipes!! Hope this helps! Don't give up on the protein...I was bummed about not finding one the first couple of weeks. Then my husband found this one and its great, considering I'm pretty picky myself! Good Luck!!
