First of all thanks for all the support and loving words of kindness! I am doing pretty darn well, I have some pessure but no pain. The people here have been just awsome! My xrays and uper gi were good this morning. I only had one minor insident this morning when my hart stopped beatting for 2 seconds or so, I felt no discomfer and was unawear that it had even happend. I have walked five fimes now including 4 one and a half rounds of the floor it feels great to be up and around. I have the nurses with me of couse but have not needed any help as I walk. I am sipping water regularly without any problems too. I am tired most of the time but I guess that's normal. Well thanks again everyone I appreciate it all, and pray that blessing go your way

Glad to hear you are doing so well! Have you had a chance to locate our other local over-50 cohort yet? I expect she's sleeping a bit today!

Glad your up and doing well.  Just a bit of advice...
I had NO pain from the surgery...it was really bizaar.  When I got home, I thought, "well, if I have no pain then I must to all healed"  WRONG!!  Take it slow.  You're gonna be tired alot.  Your body has to process out the antitis...anatesi...well, the stuff they used to make you sleep..LOL.  It's hard on the system, so listen to your body.  Walk all you can, but dont push yourself, or think that just because your tired, your lazy.  Your insides are all in shock as well, be easy with them...
CONGRATS!!!  Your on your way!!!

Great going!  You are on your way.  I agree with April - the tiredness was my only after effect.  I had my surgery two weeks ago and am back at work.  But I do get tired.

All the best on your journey, Melissa.

Melissa is really doing well! We had a nice visit yesterday afternoon and she hopes to get sprung today. And she had open! I hope she does not mind me saying that she showed me her "zipper" - it is beautiful! None of the bruising we sometimes see in peoples pics of lap aftermath. Now I understand why some docs prefer open.

Melissa - You are on your way girl! Call me if you want company when you are ready for the Dallas pool. I've been wanting to try it myself for the novelty factor. Thank you so much for sharing and helping me with my fears.
