Hi!! I'm new to this forum have been on this journey for about 3 yrs.  I was turned down by my insurance company the first time around.  Then I had no insurance for two years since I was waiting to get on medicare.  I have glaucoma and because of it I am blind in one eye and have enough sight lost that I was put on disablity plus being SMO, high blood pressure, etc. that is associated with being so.  .   I have learned so much from this forum just being a lurker.  I'm planning on the DS, have the first appt to get this rolling again on Nov 5, .  Has anyone on here gone the medicare route.  I also have a Medicare Supplement thru AARP.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Donalda

I don't have any info on Medicare, since I have other insurance.  But I wanted to welcome you to the group.  I'm fairly new here, too.  Joined during the summer and just had my surgery last week.  Best of luck on your journey!

Welcome to this forum.  People here understand the struggles we go thru when our bmi is over 50 better than anywhere else!  Please come back often and post.

check out www.dsfacts.com; the DS forum on OH is super informative, and Medicare pays for the DS, and does not require any 6 month suervised diet.
