A WOW moment

My computers been in the shop for a few days, so I've been away...

I WALKED A MILE!!!!!  Me!  I walked a whole mile..in less than an hour..not much less, but I still did it.   My knees were screaming at the end of the walk, but I still did it.  Thanks to my wonderful friend Toni.  She's just an inspiration to me.  I had to stop 3 times, but she didnt need to.  She's machine.  And thats no small feat...she's big like me.  I'm so glad that I have her to help me thru this weight loss journey.
I'm still stalled.  298 and holding..LOL...but I'm not discouraged at all.  I know the scale will move...just takes time and determination.  And doing the right things, which I really havent been doing.  I dont get the required protein, nor do I eat enough.  I'm working on it tho.  My hair starting to fall out is a great motivator.  I've always thought my hair was the prettiest thing about me..so I want to protect it..LOL

Hope all you ladies have had great weeks..
Let me know how and what your doing?

A MILE!!!!

That is frickin' awesome!

I had a mixed week - my sleep study really disrupted my sleep and work. I'm getting the SAD pretty badly and seem to want to sleep weird hours - which are challenging when it comes to work. I will be so happy when my shrink is back from a family emergency. Trying to cope by pulling up my big girl panties and getting out in the garden today to get some light.

Eating has been slipping. How do other folks conquer the fall siren call of carbs for a winter nap?

Sorry to hear that the sleep study put you out of whack.  What were the results?
I have a friend that suffers from SAD.  She's in the middle to remodling her house in an attempt to beat it this winter.  She wanted lighter color floors and walls.  Light is a great drug for SAD..Get as much as you can.  Pulling up your big girl panties is some times hard...take it easy on yourself.
I keep thinking..OMG..Thanksgiving is coming up..and I LOVE pumpkin pie.  So I'm looking for a recipe for one that I can eat..and I've found a few.  Thanksgiving was my favorite holiday...because it meant family and FOOD!!  And while I'm looking forward to it this year..I'm nervous about all the food and how I'll do.
Hope your day is a good one.

I don't get the results of the sleep study for about 10 days. The sleep tech said I hardly moved at all during the night, which was surprising, as I used to thrash so much the covers were a shambles.

I just spent about an hour weeding, pulling old beans and harvesting red onions. Now I'm resting before heading back out. I love gardening - I can do so much more than I could last year. Plus with getting the sun, well it's a no-brainer to ignore the pile of dishes in the kitchen - LOL!

I made this pumpkin fluff last year for T-giving and Christmas.  Everyone seemed to like it.

Pumpkin Fluff Crust 2.5 cups graham cracker crumbs 2/3 cup melted butter 6 T. splenda Mix together, spread in 9x13 pan and chill for one hour.   Filling: 1 large can pumpkin 1 box lite cream cheese, softened 1 small box sugar free instant vanilla pudding 1 container fat free cool whip 1 tsp. pumpkin spice (to taste)   Blend filling ingredients, put in chilled crust, chill overnight.

Way to go, April...that's a true "milestone" (heh)!
You should be proud...I am also excited that I was able to work up to one mile on the eliptical machine at the gym, which always kicks my ass and drenches me with sweat...never thought I'd feel excitement over exercise accomplishments cuz it's awful hard work still, but I'm actually feeling psyched to keep reaching mini-goals in that area too.

That pumpkin fluff recipe looks incredibly good; bookmarking it for the holidays; thanks for sharing. I enjoy your posts, ladies, and feel "at home." I'm down 117 lbs. at my six-month post-op appt. last week, over 50% of my excess weight GONE! I'm working hard to lose the second half. I'm really in awe of the power of our tool combined with our efforts! Have a great rest-of-the-weekend!

April, that's a great accomplishment. Hope the knees calm down soon. Yes, get that protein in to protect your hair!!!

I had a good day. I went into work. After 14 yrs I finally get an office with a WINDOW. I was pleased that I was able to get about 80% of my papers and notebooks and stuff moved to new place. I got a pretty good workout.
