Patsy, congrats on getting a date and good luck with your surgery. I have good days and bad days on the walking. I am trying at least to do some exercises in bed that the PT gave me and I kind of made some up on my own. I can walk and do grocery shopping or a quick trip to Walmart, but not much else. I can get from my car into work and around the building OK. Last time I was losing weight I started out walking at Kohls and was able to build up my tolerance pretty quickly, so even getting a little weight off will help the mobility.

I watch way too much tv and it kind of sucks the life out of me. I'm TRYING, but am not always successful, to do other stuff. I'm sorting through magazines, requesting books from the library, doing some scrapbooking. Whenever I make the effort to do something that makes my house look better, it always cheers me up a lot, but I don't always have the energy. I have a niece that I haven't seen in 5 yrs coming for lunch tomorrow. I have to work in the morning so I'm going to buy lunch, but I need to pick up the house a little. UGH.

I hope your knees are good for you soon.

It's funny how we all {ok most of us} have stuffed down who we are or what we enjoy {other than food} right along with all the food and drink. Part of it is physical and part mental... you physically cannot do things you'd normally enjoy so you kinda give up on it and soon after you don't even try new things because of the fear of dissapointing yourself and/or that you cannot to it physically. I ahve found the more I started losing, the more energy and a little more confidence to step outside my comfort zone. Once you begin doing that it opens a whole new world to you... baby steps.
