whey protein and weight loss
I dont shop at GNC so I dont know about their products but I do know that for whey protein you want it to be whey isolate protein. So if the GNC protein is isolate protein then I would say yes it could be used as a meal replacement.

: Is whey protein a good protein choice following bariatric weight loss surgery?
A: Following bariatric surgery it is important to follow a special diet designed by a physician and/or nutrition professional. Protein plays an essential role in that diet as it is the primary food source following surgery. Inadequate amounts may contribute to hair loss, muscle loss, and poor skin tone. Whey protein isolate is an excellent protein choice post surgery as it is very easy to digest and efficiently absorbed into the body. It doesn't sit in the stomach for long periods of time like beef and other protein foods that may upset the system.

It's probably best as a supplement. But I did use whey protein as a meal replacement before surgery.
After surgery I have to eat 3 meals a day of food... pudding like consistency... and then I have to get 75-100 grams of protein. So I use the protein shakes for that.
GNC does have meal replacement shakes specifically though.
