Anyone started where I am at?
Aww don't be scared. I haven't had the surgery yet but i feel your pain. If you are too scared or nervous postpone the surgery to take some of the weight off. I think you will be okay the other post said she started at a weight higher than that. I think if it was to risky your doc wouldn't do it. Try to think positive and remain hopeful sometimes our thoughts create intense feelings in us, but if we change our thinking and say positive things our feelings kinda follow. Write a list of all the good things that will happen to you and for you once you have the surgery, one thing for sure you won't be considered high risk once you start dropping weight.

MY WT. WAS 330LBS MY BP WAS 260/200 ON THE SURGEY TABLE I FELT THAT I WAS GONNA DIE IF I DID NOT HAVE THE SUG ERY PRAY AND LEAVE THE RESULTS TO GOD IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE SURGERY WHAT ARE YOUR OPTIONS? REALLY TALK TO PEOPLE ON THE OTHER BOARDS NO QUESTION IS A SILLY QUESTION THE QUESTION NOT ASKED IS SILLY BECAUSE IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE
Hello everyone, my surgery date is March the 18th. I'm having a RNY and i'm scared but excited. I would like to know how many people are schedueled for this date. I stay near Houston Texas. My Dr. is Dr. Gomez\ UTMB hospital. Someone PLEASE give me some pointers.
I was at 407 3 weeks before surgery and at the time I started a 3 week liquid diet. I was 386 the day of surgery.
I was lucky enough to have it lap but there was a question because I have a huge mesh patch from a big hernia repair from 5 years ago and it was possible that they couldn't work around it but my surgeon managed to do so. I didn't have any real issues except the cath had to be in for 3 days because I couldn't pee and I ran a fever the day I was to go home but both of those resolved themself.
Hang in there and don't let the fast get to you too much--it is a temporary thing and keep your eye on the prize. You will be fine.
Update us and let us know how you are doing.

I was at 475 at the begining of my journey, 423 the first time I met with the surgen---wsa tring to do it on my own. Then got down to 393 the day of surgery and have now broken under the 300# mark with 178 pounds lost in just about a year. Use any time pre-sugery and those first six months to the max that is when you will loose the fastest. focus on making changes to your lifestyle- forget the word diet and focus on what your body needs and you will be sucessful!
Good luck!
Good luck!
my start weight was 485. after the liquid diet I was 465. I had the ds on 8/10 and am now 435

"Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before." ~Jacob A. Riis
