The Unury unflavored still tastes like vanilla to me. I put it in some broccoli cheese soup today and it's horrible! Funny how all our tastes are SO different!

I haven't tried it in anything warm. That's too bad about your soup.

Honestly, I understand the mechanism of the DS and how you dont absorb fat, but why would you want to eat bacon.  I dont understand the DS way of thinking I guess.  Yes bacon smells good and tastes good.  But so do donuts, chochlate chip cookies, etc.  But none of this food has any nutritional value.  Just because you can eat something and it dont make you sick, why would you.  It has no nutritional value what so ever, it does not even count as a protein, its a fat.

Hi April,

You are not quite 2 months out and that is a bit early for bacon (even turkey bacon).

Wendy chili is a good choice.  That was my go to food when  was early out and I gradually discovered the chicken breast on the salad (early out for me, that was the only chicken that would go down well).  I have gradually learned to cook chicken and marinate it so I can eat it.  It does get better.  At almost 15 months out, I can eat just about any meat and I still have to chew, chew, chew.

I discovered the greek yogurt where you can put sugar free pudding mixes in it (you may want to put a bit of fat free cool whip to make it a bit creamier).  The plain 0% has about 18 grams of protein depending on the brand.  I use chobani.  Greek yogurt can be used for many things (like sour cream, when you get further out as a vegie dip, salad dressing, etc).

I wasn't very creative about protein shakes but if you can get some samples from Vitalady.com, she has many you can get that way.  If you are a coffee drinker (this may have to wait a bit), Click is good.  I just started trying that and it is good.

There is a milk brand called Carb Hood and it comes in fat free, 2% and chocolate.  The fat free has 45 calories for 8 oz and the other 2 have 90.  It is sweetened with splenda and has 8 grams of protein per 8 oz serving.  It is pricey (I found mine in Wisconsin for 3.08 for a 1/2 gallon) but I have started using that only for shakes.

What other types of foods are on your list that you can eat?

Sylvia

Thank you so much for the info.  I did order some unflavored protein powder, and I plan on putting it in alot of stuff, if it doesnt change the taste too much.  For the past 4 days, I've eaten really soft foods, lots of soups.  Wendy's chili has been a god send.
I'm gonna try the sf pudding mix in the yogurt..I did put vanilla protein in sf banana creme pudding, and although it really didnt change the taste much, I had a belly ache when I was finished eating 4 oz's.  So of course I didnt eat the other 4 oz's.
I have seen that milk..and wondered what it tasted like.  Maybe I"ll try it.  I tried Lactose, and it was just really bad. My partner thinks that l may have become lactose intolerant..but I'm not so sure.
As for what foods are on my list...just about anything but the usual stuff like breads and pasta.  No starchy veggies.
I honestly think that the biggest part of my problem is that I dont chew well enough.  Do you ever really learn to chew enough?
It's all a learning process, and I so appreciate all the responses I get on this forum.  You ladies are the best about great ideas and encouragement.
Thank you
April

The chewing part is part of this learning process and the weight loss journey.  I have discovered that and I still sometimes slip up even after over a year out.

I would know when I messed up because my stomach would hurt like crazy and my husband would tell me I was getting "the look".  If we were home, he'd get me a bowl or if we were out, he would suggest going to the bathroom.  Once it came out, I was fine.

You'll get there.
