So before I started anything I called my insurance company and I was told that I didn't have an exclusion to my plan. But I got a letter today saying that the surgery is not covered under my insurance plan!! I am sooo mad, if I don't have any exclusions for gastric then how is it not covered under my plan? I have BCBS of AL....

PLEASE HELP!!

Hire obesitylaw.com.  I had to borrow the funds, but I did it...and got approved after sixteen months of fighting..

14 pounds lost before surgery. My first ticker is when I hit onderland: this was my goal when I started on this journey.  I want to focus on that right now...once I get there I can reevaluate.

My second ticker is my dream goal. Even if I only visit there for a short time, it would be nice to see that number just once.  I am pretty sure I'll need plastics to hit this goal.

The Insurance forum may be helpful as well. And Obesity Law is the way to go if you need big guns (from what I hear - no personal experience)

Stick to your guns sweetie.
You are your own advocate and you will have to fight for yourself sometimes.
Good luck on your weight loss journey

Way to go on advocating for your self!

That's one of my personal revalations. We have to push and work at it to make this journey. There is no weight fairy out there.

You are off to a great start.

I have BCBS of TN and it was not covered for a long time, but it is now. You have to lose 10% supervised by a physician who is not your surgeon on my policy. I went to the website and searched for bariatric surgery and got all the details.
