An Introduction as well...
Hello all,
My name is April, and I've been coming to OH for a few months..nevering posting until I had surgery. I've just recently found this BMI over 50 forum. And I'm so glad I did.
I had RNY on July 30th. My highest weight was 423, 338 on the day of my surgery. As of this morning, I'm at 305.
Like many of you, I've been over weight all my life. I can't remember a time when I was thin or even close to normal size. I could never sit in a theater seat comfortably, nor could I fly because I didnt fit. Clothes were a nightmare. Resturant booths, forget about it.
Thats all started to change, and I cant tell you how excited I am. I fit nicely behind my steering wheel, most seat belts go all the way around me..and resturant booths no longer scare me. I've got a long way to go to 155lbs, and quite frankly, I can't imagine getting down to that. But if I hit 220...I'm be happy!! Hell, I'm happy now. Just being able to go to Walmart and walk around is so GREAT!!!
Lets all keep in touch thru this forum. We all need support and friends...cant have too many

April, you have already lost a CONSIDERABLE amount of weight. I'm so happy for you and glad that the quality of your life is improving. I got a HUGE bruise on my belly from trying to squeeze into a booth at Outback a while back AND I didn't make it. We had to sit at the bar, which was uncomfortable also.
I'm glad the seatbalets are going well too. I'd love to hear about all your victories. We all appreciate the stuff that others take for granted.
You are going to be UNDER 300 VERY soon and this is one of my first goals. Early congratulations!!!!

Hey April, keep up the great work. Can totally relate to everything you said. Cant wait to go to a reasturant because I want to go there and not stay away because I went there once and the seats were uncomfortable or I have never been and have no idea if I will get myself into an awkward and embarrasing situation with the people I am with. Only people at BMI 50+ can trully understand the extra struggles we go through. It was not until too long ago that I could actually buckle my seatbelt and let me tell you since they passed the law in my state that it was mandatory I hated every day I was out on the road and not wearing it. I felt like a total law breaker and I did not like the feeling one bit, but it was not by choice. And like many, I am so sick of wearing what I can find to fit my body.
